Subject: Happy! – Feb 5 (Finn, Beck & some Bull) From: Abby Sale Date: 05 Feb 06 - 10:59 AM Happy Birthdays! Jack Beck was born 2/5/1942 – Scottish balladeer of White Springs, FL & Dunfermlin Barry Finn was born 2/5/1951 – chanteyman, Finn & good guy. Here's a funny thing. Two fellers born on the same day, both post here and I (likely along with two or three other people) consider them good friends. But I hardly know either. Perhaps in our small community of folkies we're all compatible. Perhaps I'd get along well with any Mudcatter I met. But that's a really scary thought. Still, you don't get a Happy! just because you're a friend of mine and a folkie. Being a superb singer and knowledgeable carrier of traditional songs helps, though. ALSO: World super-star violinist Ole Bull was born 2/5/1810 (d.8/17/1880). He ill-advisedly purchased Pennsylvania land for a Norwegian colony:
