Martin Carthy told us last night at Hitchin Folk club that Dave Swarbrick will be back on tour this autumn, starting with Hitchin. Can't wait to see him. He's apparently entertaining his neighbours with playing all day at the moment!

He's appearing in Hampshire at Easter along with Kevin Dempsey and Maartin Allcock.

Swarb appears on Sunday April 16 at the Lysses House Hotel in Fareham, Hampshire.

Martin Carthy appears with Waterson:Carthy on the same night at the Ferneham Hall in Fareham as does the great Roy Bailey.

Well worth refreshing.

Clicking on the links will reveal that there are plenty of opportunities to see Swarb before the autumn - starting with an appearance with Kevin Dempsey and Martin Allcock at Lowdham, Nottinghamshire, which is about three villages from my doorstep!

It is quite simply fantastic that this guy is back in action at the age of 64, and apparently firing on four cylinders again.
