The Fence Collective is based out of Cellardyke in Fife, Scotland and is a group of songwriters and musicians with a vaguely folk accent to what they do. They were recently involved with the New Makars Trust in working with local groups in the East Neuk (of Fife) on a community songwriting project. The NMT web-site is http://www.newmakarstrust.org.uk

King Creosote is songwriter Kenny Anderson. With Johnny Lynch he runs the collective and Fence Records.

Anyone know anything about a Scottish folk singer who calls himself King Creosote?

I gather he leads something called the Fence Collective, a bunch of singers and musicians north of the border.
