Little fly upon the wall
ain't you got no clothes at all
ain't you got no mum and dad
aaah ain't that sad.

or

I saw a little worm a squirming on it's belly
I watched it for an half an hour
and squashed it with my welly.

My mum used to say those to me when I was little. Don't know where they came from either. I always thought she made them up. Mums are brilliant after all!! ;-)

Well, I found one line, "I wish I were a little fly, in my love's bosom for to lie!" - but I hope that's not the same one...

I would like more information on the following children's rhyme (author, dates, etc.). This is one of those rhymes you would say to very young children. You tickle their tummies during the last line, and it usually elicites lots of laughter and giggles, along with "do it again".

I wish I were a little fly
With hair upon my tummy.
I'd jump into a honey pot
And make my tummy gummy.

Regards, Mike
