May be in or around Romsey on March 3/4/5. Anything I should know about, sessions, clubs, sights to see, interesting natural features, amusing people? I've never been to the place in my life.

It is a nice place, and you are quite near the Foc'sle folk club in Southampton which is usually worth a visit...

There's some nice pubs in Romsey and an excellent free festival in July "The Beggars Fayre" but nothing much music-wise this time of year.

However. Southampton is just 10-15 minutes down the road. Direct trains from Romsey if you've no car.

The Fo'c'sle Folk Club on Friday 3 March has an 'Anything Goes' evening - see www.focsle.org.uk while the Woolston Folk Club also in Southampton has Anthony John Clarke on the 5th.

Then again 25 minutes in the other direction you've got Mike Silver and Johnny Coppin in Bournemouth on the 5th.

Or if you arrived early you could catch Spiers & Boden at The Tower Arts Centre in Winchester on the 2nd.

Greg - I link to SCoFF who list in the area. I have been to the White Hart session Wed night but that was 10 years ago - it may still be going. There was a Ringwood Folk Club too then.
