Hello!

If you fancy having a go at learning the Scottish Smallpipes, or indeed any other highland fingered pipe, at last online and ready for use is the first podcast.

Don't let the word podcast put you off though, essentially it's just an audio file of me playing and talking!

I've written a tutor book that is a bit different to the others on the market and I'm podcasting it free to the world!!!!!!

You can either subscribe to the podcast, or just visit the blog page and manually download the audio file. Each podcast will have an audio file and a pdf of the relevant music. There will be about 8 podcats all building up into the whole tutor book.

This is for my masters dissertation, so I need as many people to give this a go as possible! All data for the dissertation will be totally and utterly anonymous.

So visit the site:
http://smallpiper.blogspot.com/

Subscribe to the podcast - click here!

Or catch it at Radio Britfolk (in a few weeks time.)

But most of all, give me feedback!!!!
Thanks (in advance!)

(^_^)

This is a really good site V. Well done. It will be interesting to see if anyone can do the same for the UP or the NSP.

What a wonderful coincidence. We have a friend in the village who is just getting hold of a practice chanter in readiness for delivery of his set of Scottish smallpipes in the not too distant future.

This will be invaluable for him!

I've emailed him and I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

(And hi! Ged, long time no see. Hope you are well. The prospective piper is the ex-landlord of our old local. If you're ever in the southern parts of North Yorkshire pop in and say hello, bring your pipes and give him a bit more inspiration :) )

Nick

Vx - he has already been looking and enjoying. Amazing coincidence given the timing. His pipes are being made currently. I saw him at lunchtime because I've borrowed his piano and he can't get over how nice people have been - I believe the guy making his pipes invited to come up to a festival/competition near Edinburgh(?) soon. Nice folk, eh?

Also going to come and see you at the Black Swan in March.

If you need a guinea pig for your dissertation..!

Anything that springs to mind is fantastic. I'll be putting up some more specific questions very soon, so just let me know your thoughts on the whole experience so far!
