From official records and native oral tradition we learn:

Cook was cooked & eaten in a Sandwich

2/14/1779
(b.10/27/1728).

According to Barry Finn, the spot is now marked by an underwater plaque,
which the Hawaiians think should be memorial to those that did the wonderful deed.

Pete - that's my favorite line of the entire Happy file.

Officially Kealakekua Bay but the King's description gives clubbed to death for outrageous blasphemy & on land.
