The Borderline Folk Music Club, of which I am the unofficial chairman, is sponsoring a house concert on Sunday afternoon,March 26th, at the home of Steve & Caroline Shapiro, 7 - Trailside Court, New City (Rockland County), N.Y. The starting time is 3:30 PM and the admission fee is $20 which includes refreshments. We are pleased to have Debra Cowan as our featured performer. Those of you who were at our November concert with Geoff Kaufman can attest to what a great venue this home is. Seating is limited so advance reservations are a must. All you folks who have heard Debra know how she can eletrify and inspire an audience. If you PM me with your e-mail address I will
send you the concert flyer in Jpeg format. Otherwise you can call my toll free number which works from anywhere in the USA (lower 48), to
make a reservation and get directions. It is 1-877-745-3752. This number is to be used only for matters related to the concert and not for general discussion.

This is well worth it, folks- I wish I lived closer! I try to get to hear Debra whenever I can.
If you subscribe to Sing Out, and are smart enough to get the accompanying cd, you can hear her this month- a fun version of "Walloping Window Blind"

For those of you who want to come up from NYC by public transportation, we have volunteers that will pick up people at bus stops if we know which bus you are taking. Coach USA (Red & Tan Lines) goes to New City from Port Authority Midtown Bus Terminal, as well as from the uptown George Washington Bridge Terminal. Those who are coming from Brooklyn can take the Monsey Trails bus to New Square.

I have family in New City. Damn! I thought this was Rockland ME when I opened it.
Deb is a treasure with a voice that can be sweet and moving or boisterous enough to fill a noisy pub. Don't miss a chance to see her in person.
Sol - please remind Deb that there is an open invitation for a House Concert in Maine.

Does anyone know if we are allowed to post the concert flyers on Mudcat ? If the answer is yes, I will e-mail it to Jeff so he can post it in this thread.

I just e-mailed the concert flyer to Jeff with the request that he post it to this thread. If it is allowed to be posted I am sure that it will appear here. If it fails to appear I will know that the answer is no.

To make it easier, if you have a website with the information - post a link to that.

Thank you very much Ron. And being that you will be broadcasting on the air during that time period I know that you will be unable to attend. However I am hoping that your co-host, Bill Hahn can make it and possibly be our guest MC for the afternoon.

We have been getting many inquiries from folks who want to come up from NYC by public transportation. Red & Tan Lines (Coach USA) has 2 lines running to New City from the Big Apple. One runs from Port Authority Bus Terminal (midtown) and stops at Walgreen's Shopping Center (formerly Bradlee's) on Main Street. The other line runs from the George Washington Bridge Terminal (uptown) and stops across the street from the Rockland County Courthouse which is also on Main St. Just let us know which bus and schedule you are on and one of our volunteers will be there to meet you and drive you to the venue.

We have received requests from other venues, as to whether they would be allowed to give out their flyers at Borderline concerts. Please note that our policy is to allow such activity & also to let their representative make an announcement of the upcoming event.
Hope to see you all.
Regards.
Fay

If anyone who wishes to come by train, you can take New Jersey Transit from Hoboken to Suffern, NY. Our volunteers will pick you up at the RR station if we know which train you will be on. If you are coming by car there is plenty of free parking at the venue.

I am refreshing this thread to let you all know that we still have room available for Debra's concert on this coming Sunday afternoon, March 26th at 3:30 PM. For those of you who can make it, it is a performance that you will not want to miss & the only appearance for Debra in the NYC Metro area for a while.
