Subject: RE: Happy! – Feb 24 (Lee Baker Haggerty) From: KathWestra Date: 25 Feb 06 - 10:52 AM A thoughtful, gentle man, indeed--and one whose quiet contributions, combined with Sandy's vision, have given the rest of us an opportunity to hear music that might otherwise never have made it out into the wider world. Thanks Lee. (And thanks, Abby, for remembering him.) Kathy |

Subject: Happy! – Feb 24 (Lee Baker Haggerty) From: Abby Sale Date: 24 Feb 06 - 08:38 AM Happy Birthday! Lee Baker Haggerty was born 2/24/1930 (d. 3/31/2000) Folk song collector & co-founder of Folk-Legacy Records (their first recording, "Frank Proffitt, of Reese, North Carolina," was issued early in 1962.) Says Sandy Paton: "He was a thoughtful, gentle man who devoted his life to the music he loved." Seems he did a good job of it.
