Happy Birthday!

Lee Baker Haggerty

was born 2/24/1930
(d. 3/31/2000)

Folk song collector & co-founder of Folk-Legacy Records
(their first recording, "Frank Proffitt, of Reese, North Carolina," was issued early in 1962.)

Says Sandy Paton: "He was a thoughtful, gentle man who devoted his life to the music he loved."

Seems he did a good job of it.

Thanks, Abby. Lee's been gone now for nearly six years, and we miss him. He made it possible for us to do what we have loved doing.

A thoughtful, gentle man, indeed--and one whose quiet contributions, combined with Sandy's vision, have given the rest of us an opportunity to hear music that might otherwise never have made it out into the wider world. Thanks Lee. (And thanks, Abby, for remembering him.) Kathy
