Usual rules. Start 8 to 8.30 pm. Drink beer. Play and sing folk. Fall over. Look incredulously at time. Sleeping bags and lilos at my house next door. Kiss dogs and cats. Wake with hangover.

Eat huge breakfast if you buy it off Sally in the Pub at a foolishly late hour. Small one if my house.

You can get the location from Multimap by zooming out. The Ship is in Lower Stoke, Kent. Lower Stoke is a few miles north of Strood, on the peninsular formed by the rivers Thames and Medway. If you come out of London on the A2, after passing Gravesend on your left, keep left onto the A289 (posted "Medway Tunnel"). If you enter Strood you have gone too far. At the first roundabout, keep left onto the A228 (posted Hoo and Thamesport). If you enter the Medway Tunnel you have gone too far. After 7 miles of A228 turn left, signposted "Lower Stoke". That is Lower Stoke High Street. At the end of the High Street you can see the pub. If your brakes fail you find my house!

There seem to be problems between Sally and Ken who run the pub so this could be the last session there....

Therefore it will be a good plan for EVERYONE to come to this one.

Also watch this space in case there is a sudden lapse of the pub tenancy!!! If that happens, this session will either happen in another nearby pub, (there are two possibles in my mind, the Fenn Bell or the White Horse although both of them would be a bit far to walk back to my house afterwards) or if they don't want us, in my lounge and conservatory with a whip round and a polypin or two!

(1) it will be very cosy at tah bottom of the pile(!!); and

(2) someone had better tell them.

Taxis do not exist on the peninsular, at least not by the time penisular closing time comes around, at least not at reasonable prices. I suppose we could all try to get Paddy to stay sober and transport us in his US army truck.....


Assume that this will be at the usual pub and the sleepover as usual at my place - unless you hear different.

Clicking on "live music in Doha" will reveal photos of me with the Soul Syndicate and Mojo. Clicking on "Dunestock" and then "photos" will show two of the finest examples of my shirt collection, as displayed at last year's Dunestock festival: one with Mojo and one with Coarse, Rough & Direct. It's also a fascinating glimpse of one of the most unusual music festivals in the world: completely amateur yet high quality (should I have said that?) and run by volunteers from the Doha Players theatre (which was bombed by a religious loony almost exactly a year ago) and others.

And I'm off to the desert this afternoon for Dunestock 2006, melodeon in hand!

Hmm... not too well behaved, to be boring ;-) we are a free and easy going lot and in 10 years, have only ever asked 1 person to leave... so that should give you some idea.

The reality is your more likely to be lead astray than cause a problem. we have a free bar on the saturday by the way! and i am well known for my lethal punches (not physical ones, although your head can rather feel like that in the morning!) and Essex Girl will be bringing a barrel of her own made brew. There will also be some Knockers ;-0 Have i convinced you yet?

Beware the Tequila Slammers, too, but the most effective is the South London Sneaker - a traditional 60s leg-opener punch, the sort we used then to sweet enough to attract and mislead immature women!

THe Home brew usually hits as if it had 60's additives too!!

Paddy has set up his rodeo bull behind the pub for young Andy's 19th birthday (a bit cold I would think) and they are trying to persuade us to take the guitars in and sing country. I think the third night on the trot would be a bad idea!!
