in Greenwood, Mississippi
(also born in 1899 & 1900, seems he was loose about this detail himself.)
(d.9/15/1981)

One of the early bottleneck guitarists & some claim he invented it. One of the many greats that didn't survive into the 1930's but one of the very few still great on being "rediscovered" in the 70's. (There's some good bio material at AMG.)
