Friday 31st MARCH is the date for your diary if you like a good dance! The monthly ceilidh season continues at Hitchin Town Hall with arguably the UK's favourite dance band, PEEPING TOM, who continue to bridge the imaginary gap between the 'serious' traditional dancers and the more lively Ceilidh devotees. The band has a hectic schedule of appearances at dances and festivals all over the United Kingdom, and they will be celebrating thirty-five years of music making in 2007.

Peeping Tom is led by BEN WOODWARD (melodeon and guitar), supported by MATT JOHNSON (drums), JOHN McINTOSH (bass guitar), IAN WILSON (keyboards and cittern) and PETE SMALE (guitar and mandolin).

'… the Status Quo of ceilidh bands! Hugely popular…' Stirrings
'…The best dance band I have ever had the pleasure of dancing to…' Hugh Matthew, The Review
'…Driving ceilidh music… a model ceilidh band…' Colin Randall, Daily Telegraph
'…liable to leave you panting on the floor…' Dirty Linen, USA

Caller for the evening is the experienced MARTYN HARVEY. Martyn is one of the most popular and hard working callers in the UK, and he works regularly with some of this country's top Ceilidh Bands. We've enticed him down from his native Cumbria to enjoy his dynamic and compelling calling.

Our interval entertainment (to give you a breather and a chance to buy a pint or two from the Real Ale bar) are Shore Tars Rapper – five likely lads from Milton Keynes, with their fast and intricate sword dances, and most unlikey characters in support!

Doors open at 7.30 for an 8.00 pm start, with an 11.30 pm finish – a good night out, and not expensive (£7.50 adults and £4 children under 14). Tickets available at the door.
For more information call the organisers on 01582 724 261

So have a lovely evening then Bertie dear....in fact extend it all to the weekend.

It was an amusing and musical night, what with the dancing and percussion to top it all.

Thanks for the encouragement - and handy tips from ol' timers each week. We young learners always feel safe having a go at the Bull.

Steve - I am still laughung at the song you gave me - There are so many verses that I will do the first it fornightly stages. Dates to follow.

It was a good Night A de Bull well done Ross.

I very much enjoyed Steve's visit! Magical.

Ross did you notice that no one fancied trying your guitar after the sneezzzzzing incident, health and safety masks handed out to all at Barton watch this space.

Its sad I have to go to work on my birthday

No probs - I thought I'd dropped you in it - you didn't have a note from jb

It's not as if you said 'I'm not feeling very musical tonight, so I'll go to Barton'

Well done Cathy - the angel of St Evenage continues abounds

Sorry about my song interuption to blow my nose

Cheers JB - we heard you were in Baldock - Ref said you were splitting up to spread the gospel

You were very quiet on Tuesday - are you getting old gracefully - Alans face was a picture - he looked like he was sitting next to a UXB

I'm still not sure about your Anderson's Coast - I still prefer Mick Pierces (wot no capo) version

Hi Hamish - Your gig was well mentioned last night

I hope the gig goes well - Dave was in fine form last night

And Silverfish - he even plaguarised one of my songs - shocking

When I got home I found my vest & underpants had melted into my skin

It's raining here - so be happy in your hearts folkie people

Come on Hamish give your support man a plug too, he made sure we all knew about it last night.

Well done Dave.

I say sadly 'cos I've got me new guitar at last.
Still, might see some of you at StAlbans tonight (Tues).
If not, see you on the 22nd.
Have fun. Oh, I think it's Berts Birfday soon...
