Geer toured U.S. government work camps in the 1930s, singing with Woody Guthrie and Burl Ives.
He introduced Pete Seeger to Woody Guthrie at a migrant-worker benefit concert, thus inventing modern folk music.

I did some research on Will Geer last year after I read the obituary of his ex wife (Herta Ware) and was amazed at the number of things he had his hand in.
