In an unprecedented move today the Ambassador from La Pâtisserie apologized on behalf of Prune Danishes everywhere. His exact words were, "On behalf of Prune Danishes everywhere, I apologize." It was not clear at the time we went to press exactly what the Prune Danishes were apologizing for, but the Ambassadr has said they are sorry.

The Head Cheese has apologized, Rapaire, but we don't know at this time if he is the HEAD cheese, The HEAD CHEESE or the head CHEESE. And we are still awaiting clarification from the Danishes as to exactly WHAT they're saying sorry for.

Ten copycat threads are downright annoying, and this is the tenth. I didn't complain until the number got to ten. And yes, some of the other copycats did get deleted.

No, the "Danish Have Apologized" thread did not get deleted, for a number of reasons - in general, we don't delete ideas simply because they are objectionable. Many people see a need to know about the problems of the world, even if they're unpleasant, and don't see censorship as a solution.

So, don't go having another tantrum.

My initial message was directed at ALL the people who are responsible for our copycat threads today, not only Mr. Murdoch.

Since Mr. Murdoch decided to take it personally and respond publicly, it seemed that a public reply to him was appropriate.

Whatever the case, this has been a bad day for copycat posting and spam, and it's not a good day to flood the Forum with any more.
