Grand Impresario and founder of Folklore Productions in the 50's

Manuel "Manny" Greenhill

was born in NY 3/10/1916
(d.4/14/1996)

He brought us or occasionally represented Josh White, Odetta, Theodore Bikel, Flatt & Scruggs, Mahalia Jackson, Bob Dylan, Lightnin' Hopkins, Joan Baez, Doc Watson, Reverend Gary Davis, Jesse Fuller, Taj Mahal, John Renbourn, Robin Williamson, The Battlefield Band and The Weavers and also Pete Seeger as a solo during the HCUA (HUAC) blacklist years. Folklore is, indeed, still here, and we are still maintaining the legacy Manny left us. I sit each day in what used to be his office, and there's a photo of him over my desk smiling at me. In addition to Manny's son Mitch, Manny's grandson, Matt, is also an agent at Folklore now. And the future seems assured, because as soon as Matt's daughters learn to read, I'm going to teach them how to handle the publishing side of the company . By the way, we still represent Doc Watson, as we have since 1964.
I miss him every day. Thanks for the kind salute.
