Subject: RE: Total Recorder Is anyone using it From: Geoff the Duck Date: 13 Mar 06 - 06:13 AM It is a very useful programme if you want to record "Streaming Audio" such as internet radio broadcasts. It is a while since I last used my copy. I seem to recall one feature being that you can set a timer to record when you are not there ( assuming your internet connection doesn't shut itself down automatically and you don't have children who open up CBeebies instead of the radio station you had left the PC on). Basically it catches an audio stream before it reaches the sound card, records it in a format you can specify and then passes the sound back to the computer. It will record streams which are in Real Audio format and allw you to save it as a .WAV or .MP3 or similar. Can't recall all the options. Quack! GtD. |

Subject: RE: Total Recorder Is anyone using it From: Mrs_Annie Date: 14 Mar 06 - 09:25 AM Me too. It captures streaming output from the beeb, such as Radio Ballads. So you can keep them as long as you want. And so easy to use. And I successfully transferred a recording to CD and played it in the car. |
Subject: RE: Total Recorder Is anyone using it From: Stilly River Sage Date: 14 Mar 06 - 12:27 PM I recently changed out my firewall, so I have to go back and try some of the programs that I was unable to use before. Audacity was one of them. Now that I've given Symantec the boot and have the Earthlink firewall in place I do have to look at the ads, but at least I can reach many of that pages that no amount of tweaking would before reveal, and I bet I'll also be able to hear things that didn't get through before. Will report back! SRS |
Subject: RE: Total Recorder Is anyone using it From: Shiplap Structure3 Date: 16 Mar 06 - 08:02 AM Nice and simple!!!! Just how much of the 182 page do you have to devour for it to be simple All I want to do is to record the finest prog on the whole of the BBC output (Late Junction) and play it back inthe car the following day Dont anyone mention C90s |
Subject: RE: Total Recorder Is anyone using it From: Geoff the Duck Date: 16 Mar 06 - 04:20 PM I seem to recall the important bit was to click on the little red dot that says record. Most of the rest was setting your quality of recording - mono/stereo; CD/phone etc. them click OK. Once you have your default settings sorted you just keep using the one set previously. Life is too short for reading instructions..... Quack! GtD. |
