Thanks to all: Got the tab from Harmony Central and Jumbo Jimbo' song lyric archives. I do prefer shaped notes or from ear off the recording. This was to help out a friend who only reads tab. Personally, I do not totally agree with the tab arrangement. I have listened to the recording and it seems to be a slight variation from the tab. Thanks again: Jim

hope your tab source is a good one..so many of those tab charts are homogenized versions and don't sound a lot like the record (assuming that's what you are going for) ... the 'hook' (the signature riff in that tune) is so important to that song i can't imagine even the most amateur of tabsters getting it wrong, though.

Still like to learn it right off the record by ear whenever possible though...and vary it according to taste - or not.

I'd guess so,

and I dont even know how to read tab;

but your interpretation makes sense in the context
of such a classic simple vintage pop/rock song.

Hi, Silver - I think you're correct -second rif, repeated 4 times.

Could someone please explain this phrase in tab? "(Riff 2, 4X)"
Does it refer to second rif and designate it to be repeated 4 times?
Thanks for any info. The Tab was for Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison and appears to be composed of two Riffs. Thanks: Jim
