Its all about lying being morally acceptable if it fulfills your personal or political agenda........its sick.

Makes you wonder what else is being quietly erased from the past to suit the touchy- feelys. Mr Foxx makes a good point, heroin users are seen as victims whilst us smokers are just bastards!

This is not the first time this has happened.
I understand that Paul McCartney's cigarette was "removed" from the Abbey Road sleeve some time ago.
(& let's forget about Britney Spears Bowdlerised version of Satisfaction)
The original artwork for the "Yesterday & Today" compilation was withdrawn all together after Capitol got cold feet.
If you have a copy of this now it is worth serious money.
Perhaps if you posess copies of the precensorship artwork for any of these albums you should look upon them as an investment.
I find myself wondering what Lennon would have thought of the idea that one day Tobacco would become the most controversial of his choices amongst recreational drugs.

I find it more disturbing that "we can alter images of the past to make them comply with contemporary ideas of how the world ought to be".

It's Orwellian mind-control fascism. It's very dangerous. It will contribute to the population's ignorance and make them much more vulnerable to being controlled and manipulated.

I have some photos I've recently found that show me singing with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Def Leppard, Pete Seeger, Art Thieme, Phil Ochs, Buffy St. Marie, and Deborah Wai Kapohe. Autographed copies are available for the low, low cost of $25.00 each (no discounts for Mudcatters).

Not a big fan of the fab 4, never was .. with that being said I find this disturbing ... changing history ... welcome to the Digital Age ... Truth will fade out of the equation.

Once again with the release of "The Capitol Albums Volume 2" Images showing The Beatles smoking have been digitally manipulated to show them not doing so.
So which do you find greater cause for concern:
The idea that there was a time when smoking was socially acceptable?
Or the idea that we can alter images of the past to make them comply with contemporary ideas of how the world ought to be?
