Thank you all! I sang "Here's the tender coming" and "Lowlands" last night. They went quite well, though I had to use words as a prop because they were so new to me (I had permission from the club organiser and MC). I find it quite nerve-wracking putting a repertoire together again. They are both songs that I will sing again, eventually, when I've put some more work into them.

Than you all for your advice.

"Ready for the storm" by Dougie Maclean is (roughly) gender-neutral, and has a lovely chorus. It's better with an accompanist though.
