I'm off to Chippenham that weekend and the bands I know are mostly Cheshire & Lancs based.

I was looking at Welsh Folk Sites on the TRAC website and something goes on in Mold which is a blooming site nearer than I am !!

You could try giving my mate Mick Bisiker a call. He plays with a folk-rock band called the Band of Rack and Ruin, but they do ceilidhs as well. They're based in warwickshire, but generally prepared to travel if it's a weekend gig. They have a website with contact details and stuff http://www.rackandruin.force9.co.uk/ and they also have a caller. Hope it works out!

Go to the Folk Dance Society site at http://www.welshfolkdance.org.uk/, then to the "Officers" page, and send an email to Prydwen Elfed Owens. She'll know who the local bands are. Barring that, send a message via the trac website (www.trac-cymru.org) and we can put you in touch with some locals.
