Actually, I'll probably be there myself, so we could sit together and scare the rest of the population!. I promise not to play any musical instruments, or even attempt to play any instruments musically!. Might join in singing choruses though............

Favouritism, or what?...so Mr Breezy Bloke is the only one allowed to misbehave and act in an unfitting manner...
Not that we would choose to do so, of course, you understand, but it is the principle of the thing...
Hmmmm, we shall see...it is a live performance, right?
Tell Mr T of G&T fame....to watch out for more objects flying his way, perhaps?
Maybe Twangy deserves a few interesting items sent his way, this time, too?

Hey...do you know...Twangy had to sign his name as being a wild wolds woman for a day today heehee....he said he would wear the wig and everything... in the cause of music of course...ask him about his close encounter with airport security body searches today LOL

I better get the spittons ready for WWW performance then.

Do the people catching these rare flying objects get to keep them for future auctions, where one would expect to get lots of money for them. :-)

So Twangy has become a Wild Wold Wig, whatever next!!!

Oh dear i think Villan would be shocked at the depths this thread has plumetted to...we of course will be playing nice songs in a decorous manner to a respectable audience who are very polite.
As wil all the other equally respectable acts performing next Friday...

Looking forward to hearing Bram Taylor on Friday.Yet another chance for me to hear another musician for the first time, although I know many will have heard Bram, before. When we went away on holiday, recently, we found it difficult to find much live music going on in the area. Perhaps it was because we weren't there long enough to know where to look, or ask. It made me realise, even more, how important it is to publicise and make people aware of what is available. I think we are really lucky, in this area, because there is such a wide variety of live music going on. The cost of seeing the acts is nearly always pretty reasonable, too.
BTW Did anyone see Twangy on Calendar last night? He had a very fetching hat on and was stealing the show with some very nifty bodhran playing!

Sooz...that was what I was worried about, LOL! I am sure he will be finding a cyber cafe somewhere to check up on us!
By which time...it would be too late hee hee
I was thinking,(ouch!)at the next singaround...maybe he should repeat the much-talked-about rendition of Jake the Peg...We never saw/heard it...(are there any survivers of the last time he did it? Maybe, you could give us info on this?!) ...we could always borrow his hook in case he went on a bit...

Hey there you all are!
Now then Les says you all gotta behave or he gonna ban wine from the club.
you know how the ladies get if there is some merlot on the go.
I was Wild wold womaned and am not ashamed of it,there are too many victims that feel they are to blame for what happened to them snd I am not one of them.
I cannot understand why they chose me to be on the telly though even the cello was prettier than me.
Actualy it sounded pretty good ont he soundtrack ,do you think we were dubbed?

Who isn't here.
Just cause I am up here in sunny Whitby, enjoying the massive amount of folk music on and loving everybit of it, doesn't mean that I can't see what you lot are up to.
No I won't be doing Jake The Peg again - that was a one off special. Those that missed it, just count your lucky stars :-)

Look forward to seeing you all Friday and have no doubt, it will be a very good evening as usual.

Tim it looks like you are getting yourself a name theses days - BBc and all that.

Got to go and get me newspaper and me Whitby Engish breakfast.

So far seen Raggytash El Greko Les B and Mupptitz from the Mudcat as well as Molly and Sue, Roger Beard and wife, One of the Massen brothers and his wife plus a few others. Seems almost like being at home :-)

Jez Lowe was brilliant and so was Waterson Carthy - made my Friday evening.

Mo - sorry to hear you are not well. I do hope you get better soon.

Must go, but remember this is Cyber Les clocking out whoooooooooooooo

I dont really know if you will be up to it, after all I understand you are not a teacher or have I beem misinformed?
I am suprised that they have not kicked me out yet I didnt even go to college never mind a Uni.
Hey come to think of it I have a job and not a career.
Oh well I shall have my ears bunged up so I cant hear anything I am not qualified to listen too.
Back to work now.
You will be pleased to hear I was was not roused from my slumbers to attend to any Railway emergencies in this area so you cant blame the freight trains for any extended commute times this morning(Well so far anyway!)

Hey we all made any more and you would have had to introduce a lower rate for those standing!
I thought that that was a brilliant night mate well done again.
Jane and John were so natural and their songs so lovely I could listn to them for hours and of course there is the added bonus of John being good to look at as well.
I did notice that our Les was so busy listening he forgot to use his hook but dont think any one minded it this time (slap on wrist lol)

Brilliant night!!....Usually tired well before the 'spotlight' guest (won't go into why!!!)...but I knew Bram would be brilliant...and he was...I could list all the reasons why...(great things in 'smaller packaging'I suppose??)....(I wouldn't normally make 'sizest remarks' but Bram did draw attention to height!)
Anyway enjoyed performing with 'John Boy' and then great to sit and enjoy WWW/Hissy Fit and the 'Star'.... I slept with a clear conscience in the sure knowledge that I'd helped to feed 'Little Ruthie'this time too!!!..."Have a nice day all!"...JK..x

JK - little Ruthie is 24 and well able to feed herself! (Its a great sales pitch though)
45 minutes was simply not long enough was it?
SJ - you left your black book. We wrestled it back from Bram who was after nicking some of your worms! (Its here when you want it)

Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves playing and listening last night. Is great to hear such varied acts. Tim said it all as usual re the other performers...(and thanks Twangy for all your support for WWW...looking forward to you joining us with your amazing bodhran playing again for Caistor Celtic festival on May 20th...unashamed plug...!)
I really enjoyed hearing all the other acts and the audience were great...very receptive and friendly. It was good to use the pa and G&T did a good job because it is a thankless task...you often get grief from performers about getting their particular sound right. I hope they didn't get that last night because they did brilliantly with such a lot of different styles of act. IT IS a pain having to use a pa and I think all performers would prefer not...but it is difficult to get the balance for volume, without it especially if, as in our case, there are several instruments playing over the voices.
Thanks for a great night, to all concerned.

Thanks Sooz, me gammy legs needed to go home quick and me single brain-cell was overheating. :-)
I'll pick up the Book of Worms when I bring you the cheque for Sarah & Doug.

And yes, it was a great evening. I personally had a bit of a red neck on when I forgot which fret the capo should go on for 'Ghost', and Jane didn't latch on to my sad predicament, but I got sorted out eventually. Better Late Than Naked (as they say)! :-) However, the general standard was exceptionally high IMNSHO, and Bram was, as always, fantastic. What an entertainer!

And thanks for the great sound Technical Tel. Although I've used PAs (some of them very large indeed!) for forty-odd years, my heart always sinks when I get to a gig and there's a PA because so many so-called sound men can't EQ acoustic instruments properly - they manage to get high quality guitars to sound like electrified packing cases - but Terry did a brilliant job, lovely translucent acoustic sounds and excellent balance for all of the artists, with no fuss and no feckin' feedback whatsoever. Diamond Geezer!

Sorry I haven't been able to post until now, but a big big thanks to all the performers for making it such a smashing evening and a big big thanks to Gwenda & Terry with the PA - they did a great job.
It was also very pleasing to see the audience enjoying the evening so much. I got so much excellent feedback. What a team effort :-)
I am glad you are Ok Strollin'.
Also pleased to hear it went Ok last night Hissyfit and that you got home OK.

May the 19th should also be a very good evening, but first The New String Band at Corringham this coming Thursday night - definately not to be missed.

And now to enjoy my Wedding Anniversary :-)

OK Rockhen, glad to see that you are going.
I am hoping to take my daughters as well, so see you there. Not sure about Inge my wife. She has to complete a job and send back to the translation company before she goes to Holland on Friday morning.
I am sure Sooz will organise something there for your daughters birthday.

Just read the thread on the link you posted, Sooz. Always wondered why there were different variations on the NRSB name. Now I know.
What a dreadful waste of life.
It makes me all the more convinced that we should all live for today...not in the 'ignoring what effect our actions will have on tomorrow' way but just doing the best we can with the life we have been given, trying to enjoy it to the full, and hopefully treating others well along the way.
Sorry, I sound pompous...I didn't even know either of the two musicians, but life can be very fleeting can't it? Guess we should all make the most of it.
On a lighter note, if that is not disrespectful, I have reservations about the rumours I hear about the cruelty to accordion players at NWSB gigs...I will wear dark glasses and avoid all buckets of water...

I've never tried playing accordion upside down...mind you, I think I am pretty safe as the rest of WWW are not that into weight lifting...and anyway, I make enough mistakes the right way up!
Wasn't 'Upside Down' an 80s disco hit, or something similar?!!!
