Subject: Tommy Ramone turns folkie From: Wesley S Date: 27 Apr 06 - 09:56 AM Someone over at the Mandolin Cafe pointed out that Tommy Ramone - the drummer from The Ramones - has joined/formed a folk group call Uncle Monk. Their site can be found at www.unclemonk.com. He's now playing banjo, mandolin and dobro. I guess there is life after punk music. |

Subject: RE: Tommy Ramone turns folkie From: Mooh Date: 27 Apr 06 - 11:45 AM Well, the life expectancy of Ramones isn't real long, so he should try everything he can while he's still around. For some, it's not too much of a reach in attitude from punk to folk, just in expression. Cool. Peace, Mooh. |

Subject: RE: Tommy Ramone turns folkie From: Wesley S Date: 27 Apr 06 - 02:01 PM Mooh - I have to agree with you. I've always wondered about folks who only listen to one type of music. I've listened to a little bit of everything at one time or another. Maybe working in a record store and getting a nice discount helped. By the way I listened to a few of the songs on my lunch break and I enjoyed what I heard. I'll keep an eye out for this CD. |
