Just off to watch Wickham Morris greet the dawn so thought I ought to plug the Wickham Folk Festival taking place in Wickham (Hampshire) between August 3 and 6.

Artists include Richard Thompson; Steeleye Span; Oysterband; Shooglenifty; Los Pacaminos (featuring Paul Young); Osibisa; Flook; Fiddlers Bid; Spiers & Boden; Seth Lakeman and many more.

There are indoor and outdoor performance stages; a sessions bar; real ale bars; craft fayres; workshops; performance poetry; street entertainment; lots of dance sides; ceilidhs; concerts and more.

A serious rival to Sidmouth methinks.

It was great.

I've been back in Wickham today for the annual Horse Fair and a lot of people are saying they're looking forward to the Folk Festival in August. Wickham Morris will be dancing there again along with a lot of other dance sides.
