Anyone who has booked Jeremy Taylor, Phil Silvo, Fred Wedlock, Etc, will probably have dealt with Derek Grinnell, of the Perotts Folly Agency.
Alas Derek has passed away to that great folk club in the sky, as I sadly found out today, when phoning to chase up a date.
Always a nice, chatty, pleasent bloke, I am sure that he will be missed by those he represented, and by his family & friends.

very sorry to hear that. I often visited his club at The Bell and Pump in the 1970's. He booked brimstone, Downes and Beer and many others of my favourites. Later on he helped me select many of the guests for my own club.

I spoke to him shortly after seeing Malcolm Stent was ill last year and phoning up to enquire. he was a very nice guy.

Derek was also my agent - he was a real gentleman, of the type that never goes out of fashion. Vanessa and I will miss him and send out warmest sympathies to Jacqui.

I always found Derek to be a very nice guy, and also crossed his path thru' his club at the Bell and Pump in Birmingham.

Sad to hear of his passing.

It was very sudden and unexpected, apparently; and quick and comparatively painless for him. Jacqui is left with a lot to do in terms of paperwork and sorting things out, but she is keeping herself busy and is in good spirits.

A really amiable gentleman with whom I discussed issues with many times, my condolences go to Jacqui from all at Windward.

So sorry to hear the news. I concur with El Greko, Derek was a true gentleman and a man of extreme good taste and - importantly - good sense! My condolences to Jacqui.

Me and John Shaw, my bass player, were regular 'turns' at the Bell & Pump which was a great venue after a long trip down from Lancashire. The 'Mad Jocks' were an icon and Derek, who got us a lot of work around the Midlands was brilliant. Sorely missed and condolences to Jacqui.
