Are there many/any Mudcatters coming to Chippenham festival this year? If there are enough of us I thought we could try and arrange a small gathering.

George

Jon and I are there, along with the rest of Cornwall Songwriters doing one of the last performances of Unsung Heroes on Saturday afternoon. That means Hawker will be there too.
Admiral ~ you'll just have time to get from your session to Heroes if you sing the last couple of songs very quickly. Kitty ~ You too!!!

I'll be there. Bringing a Breton dance group with us.

So it'll be cornish pasties at lunch time. They don't have them over here yet but we do have a local restaurant who does fish, chips and mushy peas every Thursday evening!!!

Looking forward to see 'old' friends again.

Salut

I'll be coming for the day on Monday, with the Canadian Dan McKinnon in tow (or vice versa). We'll be looking to insinuate ourselves into as many singarounds and general singing opportunities as we can.

El Greko

My contract arrived today - I have Jim Mageean guesting in my Monday lunchtime singaround at the Cause, but I'm pretty sure there will be an admission charge, whereas the Admiral's pub session will be free!

I'll be there but doubt if I'll get to many singarounds since I'll be with my 'proper side' (Exmoor Border) who are dancing at Chippenham for the first time.
Hence - Admiral - I haven't been chasing you about carrying on singing after your lunchtime session, though other people may like to. And I never got round to writing to Bob and Gill about the need for more singing 'space'.
Shan't be running Herbaceous Border (the scratch side) either. There's only so many places I can be at the same time!

For the concertinistas among those present, Spare Parts (Suzanne Higgins, Bryan Creer and I) will once again be running part-playing sessions for concertinas at the Festival. They will be on the Saturday at 10.00 a.m, in the Cause Auditorium, Saturday at 2.30 in the Rose and Crown Barn, and Monday at 2.30 in the barn again. (Barn again?)

If you'd like to look at some of the music in advance, let me have your postal address and I'll send you copies.

We're also running English session tunes practices at 10.00 a.m. on Sunday and 10.00 a.m. on Monday in the Cause Auditorium.

You might also be interested in some of the Lewes Arms Folk Club workshops listed below. Places remain for Gavin Bird (£15) and Sandra Kerr (£30). Martin Carthy's is sold out but a few evening tickets are still available. We're keeping a list of interested people for the later workshops but not taking bookings for them yet.

Tootle pip,

Valmai

He'll be stewarding this year, but I'll be wafting round, getting to as many things as possible as I'm not with a morris side this year.

It would be good for Jon and I any time but not saturday afternoon or when the Admirals sings are on. We are leaving on Monday lunchtime, hoping to see the final run and capture of the Earl of Rone in Coombe Martin on the way home. Perhaps we should be civilised [!] and have 'Afternoon Tea'somewhere

I've just heard that they have re programmed Unsung Heroes for 6pm and not 3pm, so you'll all have to come to that instead and have the gather after the show. How can we only make it 90 mins? It's a 2hour show plus a break!!! We'll have to sing fast.....

I'll be on my electric buggy again and we'll have our greyhound 'Blue Magic' with us, feeling very sorry for herslf. She managed to impale herself on a wooden branch or something chasing squirrels in the woods and has had to have her spleen removed, so she's very sore at the moment.
