Subject: Deitrich sings Seeger From: Kaleea Date: 16 May 06 - 01:58 PM After I blinked a couple of times, I realized I was actually awake. Did anyone see Marlena Deitrich on the ARTS cable channel yesterday? It was footage of just the one song, taken from a 1972 performance--she sang "Where have all the flowers gone." Very interesting interpretation of the song. One could certainly tell that she hated war. I have basic cable (stanky time warner) in San Diego & only get this channel for an hour or 2 each day, so I don't know if this is seen often or if they show more of the performance. |
