There's always Folkwaves on BBC Radio Derby, Lincoln, Nottingham and Leicester. They have a "What's on" section for Derbyshire and points north.

Hope to see anyone who can make it tomorrow (13th) at the session.

If you want to plug it to a wider audience, try sicking it in here:

Thank's for your concern, Julie, but I don't even make the Thursday session I mentioned above very often (and that's -- just -- within walking distance)

Dave - I've sent it to the SRFN but I was trying to get it to a wider audience.

Paul - I thought I had put it on the folk map but it wasn't there so I've done it again.   I'm afraid I count as an organiser. I don't know all I really wanted to be was a muse and an inspiration and I just end up organising people.

Ringer. It is anticated that this is a tune session but if the balance changes I'll let you know. Are you near to sheffield at all as there are some wonderful singing sessions there or there is the Anston Folk club (3rd Thursday) which has singers and guests.

And you could add it to the Folk Map.

There's a big black hole round Derbyshire. I know of a few sessions, but only the "organisers" are allowed to add them.

OK, Jules. "largely tunes and the odd song" is not really my thing (I prefer it the other way round). I wish it/you well.

I'll put it in my dairy. Maybe I can get Kelvin to come along too (if he doesn't already).

Hi Paul

Thanks for that link - just waiting for the authentication to come back so that I can put the details on. It doesn't look heavily used but it only takes one or two people to look and turn up.

Ringer - no it's an irish session we've set up at the County Hotel on Saltergate. Its been running a couple of months now but I haven't been advertising it until it settled down.   Its the 2nd Tuesday of the Month at 9.00 so the next one will be 13th June.   Will be largely tunes ( mainly irish but not exclusively ) and the odd song.

J

What is this "Chesterfield Session", JulieF? Is it the one I occasionally attend at the Peacock (which, 1st Thur of month, moves to G&D)?

Derby Folk lists Derbyshire sessions, but it's not very active. I put it down to the iodine shortage.

Looking for the equivalent of the South Riding Folk Network / Stirrings in Derbyshire. So that I can publicise a Chesterfield Session.

Anyone got any contacts ?
