Subject: ANGAJB at Balt. MD ARTSCAPE ! From: GutBucketeer Date: 26 May 06 - 10:22 PM Woo Woo! Yeah! We just found out today that the All New Genetically Altered Jug Band has been selected as one of the Street Theater performers at this year's Baltimore ARTSCAPE Festival. The Festival is July 21-23 in Baltimore's Mount Royal Avenue area. We will be playing at 3:00 and 6:30 Friday (21), and at 1:30 pm on Saturday (22) and Sunday (23). ARTSCAPE is Baltimore's premier art and street festival and includes 3 days of ART extravaganza, from music to visual arts, to dance, to Art Cars and found art. So Mark your calendars and if you are close to Baltimore stop on by. The official schedule announcement will take place on June 7th. Gutbucketeer. I'm sorry about the self promotion, but I just had to let someone know that will appreciate it. My wife thinks "that's nice". |

Subject: RE: ANGAJB at Balt. MD ARTSCAPE ! From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 18 Jul 06 - 12:42 PM Thanks heavens. I thought ANGAJB was a new open tuning. I was looking for the J string on my guitar. Seamus |
Subject: RE: ANGAJB at Balt. MD ARTSCAPE ! From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 18 Jul 06 - 12:49 PM Silly me! The J string is right beside the N string. Oops. Seamus |
Subject: RE: ANGAJB at Balt. MD ARTSCAPE ! From: Big Mick Date: 18 Jul 06 - 02:38 PM Seamus, ya friggin' showoff!! Always using these flashy alternate tunings. You need to play more gigs and quit laying about, screwing around with that damn guitar. Mick |
Subject: RE: ANGAJB at Balt. MD ARTSCAPE ! From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 18 Jul 06 - 04:38 PM Mick, I AM playing gigs! That's why I can't get up to Balto to see Gutbucketeer and ahe ANGAJB performing at the Artscape Festival. That's the downside to being a professional performer - we can't get out to see other artists 'cause we're working at the same time. Seamus |
Subject: RE: ANGAJB at Balt. MD ARTSCAPE ! From: Big Mick Date: 18 Jul 06 - 05:14 PM Seamus ....... please open yer peepers and notice the tongue planted firmly in cheek ...... LMAO. I would love to go see Jim, but I am playing in Michigan this weekend. Playin' anywhere local? Mick |
Subject: RE: ANGAJB at Balt. MD ARTSCAPE ! From: GutBucketeer Date: 18 Jul 06 - 10:23 PM Damn, I wish I could see you both:-) ANGAJB is the Washtub open tuning :-) JAB |
Subject: RE: ANGAJB at Balt. MD ARTSCAPE ! From: Severn Date: 18 Jul 06 - 11:11 PM I will try to make it up on Friday night for Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, so I'll be on the lookout for you. It was good to hear you on stage and jamming informally in the eating area at the Glen Echo fest again earlier in the summer..... Artscape's always good for intense heat every year, so be prepared! Besides, I don't see it all as shameless self-promotion, but rather as jug-ular vanity. Severn By the way, do you all become "Genetically Altared" for a Sunday sacred jam, or does that smack too much of evolution for the folks? Actually, "Evolution Mama, Don't You Make A Monkey Out Of Me" sounds like the band's kind of song...... |
Subject: RE: ANGAJB at Balt. MD ARTSCAPE ! From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 19 Jul 06 - 12:47 AM Mick - my tongue was planted firmly in your cheek too! Gutbucketeer, I believe ANGAJB is also the open tuning for a TeaChest bass, popular in British Skiffle groups in the '50's. Hope to see you guys with Mick sometime when we're both not working. Seamus |
