This one IS true.

In Perth, Australia, the other day a woman left her 21 year old 'boyfriend' to mind her baby for a short while. He spilt some liquid on her, so the idiot put her in the tumble drier!

Severe bruising and burns. The Police have charged him.

This has been on the TV and Radio, I suspect someone will find it at a Newspaper site.

I'm not making this up you know.

This reminds me of the true story of the American woman who shamppoed a poodle, then put it in rhe microwave to dry, thereby killing it, she sued the microwave maker because the instructions didn't say not to.

I'm sure I've seen something very similar before - down to the fact that the mother went to the gym for an hour. I am suspicious....

Eric, I think you will find that Snopes claim the Microwave Poodle story is an urban legend - this one is unfortunately fact.

The guy has been released on bail, but with a court order that he is not to approach the rest of the family.

I'm sure you will find other Newspapers, especially Aussie ones sooner or later.

Richard, try this - don't remember this one before.

Teen mother 'put baby in tumble drier'
December 7, 2005
http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/teen-mother-put-baby-in-tumble-drier/2005/12/07/1133829649890.html

A teenage mother faces first-degree murder in the US for allegedly placing her three-month-old son in a clothes dryer and turning it on.

The infant had third-degree burns over 50 per cent of his body and suffered blunt force trauma to the head, the St Tammany Parish coroner said in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Police Sergeant Darryl Darden said Lakeisha Adams, 18, called police to her home on Monday to report that someone had killed her child.

When officers arrived, they found Jailand Adams on a sofa. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Darden said Adams admitted during questioning to putting the infant in the dryer and turning it on, but did not say why.

Adams also has a one-year-old child who was placed in state custody, police said.

If convicted, Adams faces death by injection or a life sentence.

The first-degree murder charge is mandatory under Louisiana law because the victim was under age 12.

Reminds me of a 'Filk' song.....

Washing Day
Words: Anne Rundle and Philip Allcock
Tune: Swing the Cat (Meg Davis)

It was just after tea-time when we heard our mother shout,
Curse the Devil, behold I see the cat's about
There are stains upon the curtains,
There are marks upon the sheets,
And everywhere the tiny prints of muddy feet.

What can we do said the children, we'll help any way we can
It's a hopeless situation but I have a plan
Everyone go out searching for it, this way and that
Don't dare show your faces till you find that cat

Well we leapt through the hail and we vaulted up the stairs
And we followed the trail of dirt and muddy hairs
Three hundred places in the house where our quarry may be sat
But we searched every cranny till we found that cat

Back to the kitchen we went running with our kitty
It was streaked with tar and oil and it was slightly less than pretty
When our mother saw us coming with that filthy little tom
She threw it in the washer and she turned it on.

Spin it fast, spin it slow, first the pre-wash then the soap
With this grime there's only one way to take care of that
If you want your pussy dean, put it into the machine
It will gleam in minutes fast if you can spin the cat.

When the program completed we released our little moggy
Though we span it at a thousand rpm it was still soggy
So we brushed it and dried it till its coat was dry and neat
Then we set it down carefully upon its feet.

Well the cat fled the kitchen with its senses in a muddle
It ran into the garden and fell straight into a puddle
Then It scrambled from the mud but only found the drain
Curse the devil behold around we go again.

Spin it..

SpIn it..

CHEERS!
Nigel
