Subject: Mudcatter, Louie Roy - website & tunes From: katlaughing Date: 31 May 06 - 04:26 PM Mudcatter, Louie Roy, has to be one of the most patient and kind people I've ever known. He gave me permission to put up a simple website about him with some song samples, about two years ago. I think I got a bit of one done last year, but couldn't get the sound files to load and then was unable to work on it due my health. Anyway, finally got a new one done for him AND have one song uploaded, so far, "Old Chisholm Trail." Please visit and give a listen; just CLICK HERE. I cannot promise fast response on any requests for a CD as I still have to reload both of his tapes onto my hard-drive and we are in the process of moving my office, but if you want to be put on "the List" please follow the email link or send me a PM. Now, THANK YEW, Louiedarlin'. You ARE one of Mudcat's Treasures! luvyakat |

Subject: RE: Mudcatter, Louie Roy - website & tunes From: catspaw49 Date: 01 Jun 06 - 11:46 AM Hey! That was great!!! I like natural or unvarnished or whatever you want to call a voice that speaks with a pure and clear sound. Just the other day I stumbled on to a kid's Mom who was reviewing a few songs for a memorial service with Connie. When she began to sing it was simply beautiful and everyone stopped immediately what they were doing and listened. "Real" always comes through. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Mudcatter, Louie Roy - website & tunes From: SINSULL Date: 01 Jun 06 - 12:30 PM Real says it all. What will be on the CD? Mary, who still listens to the Blue Sky Boys, Dorsey Dixon and Arnold Keith Storm. |
Subject: RE: Mudcatter, Louie Roy - website & tunes From: katlaughing Date: 01 Jun 06 - 05:07 PM I'll post a track list in the next day or two. Sorry, it's been kind of busy. Daycare was closer yesterday and Morgan didn't want to go there, today, so I've had him and his new puppy full-time the past two days! Ah, 2.5 and 6 weeks, what fun! Thanks for your interest, folks! |
Subject: RE: Mudcatter, Louie Roy - website & tunes From: Beer Date: 01 Jun 06 - 05:47 PM That was great Kat. Love that pure sound as well. Check out Floyd Tillman thread. Peace posted a short video clip. Beer |
Subject: RE: Mudcatter, Louie Roy - website & tunes From: katlaughing Date: 01 Jun 06 - 09:06 PM Thanks, Beer, I did. While I don't mean any disrespect to Mr. Tillman, I prefer others, including our Louie Roy.:-) These are the track lists from the two tapes I have, as Louie provided. At the moment I only have a few on the hard-drive. I am not editing them in anyway, so what I put in is what you get. (NOT that they need editing, imo!) IF anyone wants something now, I would be happy to make tapes. It's quite easy as I have a professional dubbing machine. If you don't mind waiting, watch this space for info on CDs. I have a lot of alone time through Sat. night as the *engineer* has to make sure the live news coverage works well for the junior college baseball national tournament or somesuch! Aka as JUCO. Amos, please PM with your mailing address? Thanks a bunch! |

Folks, "Louie - the Kindest" has told me any of you who'd like to, have his permission to download any of the songs I put on the webpage and make tapes or CDs of them yourselves. I am still more than happy to dub the tapes and make CDs when I get them all on the HD, but just so'se ya know...THANKS, Louie!! kat |
Subject: RE: Mudcatter, Louie Roy - website & tunes From: katlaughing Date: 03 Jun 06 - 01:43 PM I've added another song: "Me and My Old Guitar." Listen to that yodel! |

Subject: RE: Mudcatter, Louie Roy - website & tunes From: katlaughing Date: 04 Jun 06 - 09:40 PM You are most welcome, Artdarlin'. Thanks for stopping by! Folks, I forgot my now 2.5 yr old grandson was allowed by his mother (don't get me started!) to stand on my desk and try to play a cassette in my dubbing machine. This was when he was younger...maybe all of 2! Anyway, he pulled on the door into which the tape is inserted in order to dub and, Rog, the Engineer, says it is broken. So...I won't be able to make cassettes, BUT....... I DO have a new stereo which allows me to put tapes onto CD, so CDs are available NOW, as I don't have to put them on the hard drive first in order to copy them! (What a concept!*bg*) Whoo-Hoo!! Live and unvarnished, direct to you! Sorry about the tapes, but at least ya don't have to wait for CDs, now. Thanks, a bunch, kat |
Subject: RE: Louie Roy - website & tunes-CDs available NOW From: katlaughing Date: 05 Jun 06 - 10:53 AM refresh |
Subject: RE: Louie Roy - website & tunes From: katlaughing Date: 06 Jun 06 - 12:33 PM Cancel that...don't know what I was thinking. Back to loading them onto the hard-drive, then making CDs. Sorry folks, it's going to be awhile. I'll try to get most uploaded to the website, soon, so that you may download them yourselves, if nothing else. Thanks for your patience. It'll be worth it, believe me.:-) kat |
Subject: RE: Louie Roy - website & tunes From: katlaughing Date: 05 Sep 06 - 08:20 PM Sorry this has taken so long. We have finally moved the office and I am offering Mudcatters the same thing I've told Louie to offer his friends and relatives: Anyone who would like dubs of his cassette tapes, please PM me for a mailing address. The high speed, professional dubbing machine is working so it won't take much effort on my part; all that needs to be covered is the cost of the tape, mailing supplies and postage. I'll let you know the cost, but it won't be much, I am sure. Thanks and, if ya haven't seen it, please check out today's Congrats thread for Louie and his lovely wife of SIXTY YEARS, as of today!:-) kat |
Subject: RE: Louie Roy - website & tunes From: katlaughing Date: 06 Sep 06 - 12:07 PM Cost for the two tapes will be eight bucks. Please PM me for my mailing addy if you are interested. Thanks! |
Subject: RE: Louie Roy - website & tunes From: katlaughing Date: 21 Sep 07 - 04:41 PM Oh, well, only a little over a year later and two dollars short, here I am, FINALLY getting these onto CD. I am not stopping it in between each song, so they come as is, the whole nine yards just like on the tapes. They sound just as great! Anywho, if anyone wants them on CD, let me know. Sorry it has taken me so long! kat |

Subject: RE: Louie Roy - website & tunes From: GUEST,DerekB Date: 25 Sep 07 - 10:43 AM I recently had the privilege of playing and singing with Louie while he was over in Idaho visiting his daughter. We played until my fingers were ready to fall off! That guy is like the EverReady Bunny when it comes to playing. He just keeps goin'! We had a great time. I love these old songs that Louie sings. I just received the CD's from Kat and am in the process of "digesting" them. I will be learning them so that the next time we play we can *really* jam. I will need to work on my yodel, though.. :) |
