Only line I remember was: "Well I like my rice and beans". Spanish song or should I say melody because the words are in English.
Not much to go on.

Could the song be 'Taco Grande' by Al Yankovic, Beer?

"beans and rice"??

What kind of beans?

Red beans and rice are nice.

At least that's what folks in Louisiana and the Caribbean say.

And I hear tell folks in Boston like their beans baked but I think they like ham with their beans instead of rice.

But I guess rice could be nice with it too. I don't know about the beer, though.

And I don't have a clue which song you're thinking of.

Now if you had asked about a song about beans & cornbread, I'd be able to help you out with those lyrics. But you didn't so I lose. Not that this is a contest or anything.

But I'm curious-what is the prize for the first person who posts the title & the lyrics to the song you're seeking?

" You see, I just gotta have a tostada, carne asada
That's right, I want the whole enchilada
My only addiction has to do with a flour tortilla
I need a quesadilla"

You know when I think about it Beer this probably isn't the Song you seek? I got thrown with Spanish Tune and the English Lyrics and food mix thingy..:)

Good Luck with your quest.

Mr. Beer you have stumbled into the wrong web-forum.

Perhaps, you might consider the UK's champain-for-real-ale which has had a strong web-prescence over the last seven years.

Subject: Lyr Add: DOWN IN NEW ORLEANS (Memphis Minnie)
From: Max
Date: 05 Jun 06 - 11:25 PM

DOWN IN NEW ORLEANS
Memphis Minnie

I'm going back down in New Orleans
I'm going back down in New Orleans
Well, I'm going where I can get my rice and beans

We are the cookingest Creoles in the world you ever seen
We are the cookingest Creoles in the world you ever seen
And if you don't believe me, follow me back down to New Orleans

Well, my man is a doctor and he lives off of rice and beans
Well, my man is a doctor and he lives off of rice and beans
That's why he done gone and left me back down in New Orleans

I've got the cookingest sister in the world you ever seen
I've got the cookingest sister in the world you ever seen
But she can't cook nothing but them rice and beans

And you can't tell me nothing, baby, that I never seen
And you can't tell me nothing, baby, that I never seen
And if you don't believe me, follow me back to New Orleans
__________
Note 1: rice and beans, though usually "red beans and rice" is used by countless others as an evocation of "back downhome";
Note 2: Creoles, French créole, from Spanish criollo, from Portuguese crioulo, white person born in the colonies. A person of European descent born especially in the West Indies or Spanish America OR a white person descended from early French or Spanish settlers of the U.S. Gulf states and preserving their speech and culture OR a person of mixed French or Spanish and black descent speaking a dialect of French or Spanish.

Pixies › Bone Machine

This is a song for carol
Your into japanese fastfood
And I drop you off with your japanese lover
And youre going to the beach all day
Youre so pretty when youre unfaithful to me
Youre so pretty when youre unfaithful to me

Youre looking like
Youve got some sun
Your blistered lips
Have got a kiss
The days are lit like everyone
Uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh

Your bones got a little machine
Youre the bone machine

I was talking to preachy-preach about kissy-kiss
He bought me a soda
He bought me a soda
He bought me a soda and he tried to molest me in the parking lot
Yep, yep yep yep!

I make you break
You make me hard
Your irish skin *
Looks mexican
Our love is rice and beans and horses lard
Your bones got a little machine
Youre the bone machine

Uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh (3x)
Uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh

Subject: Lyr Add: LITTLE OLD TOWN CALLED NEW ORLEANS
From: Max
Date: 05 Jun 06 - 11:30 PM

LITTLE OLD TOWN CALLED NEW ORLEANS
Jerry Jeff Walker

There's a little old town called New Orleans I know
There's a little old town called New Orleans I know
Hey, it's all right, everything swings all night
In a little old town called New Orleans I know

The quarter comes alive a little bit after sundown
The quarter comes alive a little bit after sundown
Hey, hear the beat of the Dixieland band playing down the street
In a little old town called New Orleans I know

We all get together and play on that corner sometimes
We all get together and play on that corner sometimes
Hey, there's old Babe, Porkchop's dancing with a harmonica stand
When we all get together and play on that corner sometimes

Get a muffaletta, get yourself some rice and beans
Get a muffaletta, get yourself some rice and beans
Get oyster stew, got a little on your brand-new suit
In a little old town called New Orleans I know

Now you're strutting around showing off your doobie-doo
Strutting around just showing off your doobie-doo
Hey, how you been, good to see you back on the streets again
In a little old town called New Orleans I know

In a little old town called New Orleans I know
There's a little old town called New Orleans I know
Hey, it's all right, everything swings all night
In a little old town called New Orleans I know

Thanks for the lyric responses but no luck as yet. The line definitely says: "Well I like my rice and beans". I remember the melody of that line and it doesn't fit to the lyrics provided. Thanks for trying.

I'm wondering if its not "Take me Back to Old Yazoo". The Bozwell sisters sing a great version.

The fellow who sang this song is Garland Jeffries. Maybe last name is not spelled correctly. I have been searching the net put haven't come up with anything as yet.

Interestingly enough, the red-beans-and-rice cookery competition in New Orleans some years back was won by a Chinese chef. Only in America...

From: Peace
Date: 22 Dec 06 - 12:45 AM

SPANISH TOWN
The JD.SAGE VERSION available at www.bentmusic.ca / www.puretracks.com

Original lyrics by Garland Jeffreys 1976
Adapted by J.D. Sage with Garland Jeffrey's kind permission

Oh signorita
When the evening sun go down
I come to serenade you
From another part of town.

Rafaella is my mother's name.
She loves her Juan Jose
My mother is a matriarch
Oh what more can I say
Together they raised three children
Mario Carmen and Ray
They live near de Janeiro
on Mona da Vinci Bay

I'm gonna eat my rice and beans
I'm gonna suck on a chili dog
Way down in Spanish Town
In the Spanish fog

Oh I love you to meet my friend Don Juan
He loves to play the mandolin
Signoritas they gather 'round'
Cause they think that he's a Mexican
But I know so much better
I'm holding here the proof
Don Juan is a gringo boy
He's not telling us the truth

But he loves his rice and beans
He's gonna suck on a chili dog
Way down in SpanishTown
In a Spanish fog

I love you to meet Margarita

Margarita she is calling me
And I love to hear my name
Out the lights and bring on the wine
It's Fiesta time again
You know I love my Portugal
'cause she shows me what to do
All the roads lead to Mexico
but they bring me back to you

She's gonna eat her rice and beans
She's gonna suck on a chili dog
Way down in Spanish Town
In the Spanish fog

Revolution is in the street
I can feel it in my blood
I can see Allende still crying out
But they nip him at the bud
Oh they're talking in the alleys
of Old San Juan, Old San Juan
All the soldiers gonna walk the trail
Big sombreros see them everywhere
Zapata lands in jail

Ain't gonna eat no rice and beans
Ain't gonna suck on nobody's chili dog
Way down in SpanishTown
In a Spanish fog
Way down in Spanish Town

You can find Jeffreys' recording of it on Garland Jeffreys 'Matador and More' A&M CD 5398 if it is still in print. Good album.
