If Eric Clapton was the first non-beetle to record who was playing the violins and other stuff on their records.

Also you will find that Steve Marroitt played guitar on some stuff and Vince Prince played drums on some of the earliest records!

Everybody knows that Dave Kenningham was the 5th Beatle.

Ringo was the 5th, George was the 4th, Paul and John were numbers 2 and 3........The FIRST was a Volkswagen.

And we all know that if Ted Kennedy had been driving a Volkswagen back then, today he would be a former President..............

Dung Beetle (Copris lunaris) – played on material like 'Octopuses Garden'?
Cigarette Beetle (Lasioderma serricorne) – may have had additives at times!
There's more.....

The Fifth Beatle, like the mythical 12th Man at an American football game, is someone from the crowd so loyal to the team that he or she is willing to step in as a replacement. In other words, any one of us.

Most of Peter and Gordon's hits were Lennon/McCartney compositions that weren't deemed album-worthy by the Beatles. That should qualify them for some sort of honorary Beatle status.

I read a few years ago in an article in MOJO that Steve Marriott played guitar on some Stones & Beatles stuff bur wasn't credited. On the 3 CD set of LONDON singles you will see that he IS credited on one track (the weird Bill Wyman one) But I haven't seen any other reference to him on the Beatles. But it was definitely mentioned in the MOJO article. I think it was Sgt Pepper which would pre-date Clapton's stuff!

The chances of Dennis Brain having done "the Penny Lane solo" are not very good as the man died in a car wreck in 1957.
