I don't really think this falls under "song origins" as it's applied here, but oh, well.

A friend of mine gets these emails from somewhere that have links to various arts/education/history/etc. pages. The one she sent me today included this, which has some pretty cool stuff. If you go under "Depression", there's an mp3 of a woman singing a song she wrote about moving from Texas to California.
