Subject: BS: Heather Mills. A gold digger or wife ? From: GUEST,Beatles fan Date: 17 Jun 06 - 04:23 PM What is the view of members regarding Heather Mills ? Paul is said to be heart broken at the split and now the papers are saying she was on the game and tomorrow are running the story. The pictures of her nude modelling are now all over the net. Did she see him as an investment ? Happy birthday Sir Paul |

Subject: RE: BS: Heather Mills. A gold digger or wife ? From: GUEST,Sandra Date: 17 Jun 06 - 06:40 PM She had a nasty, tough life. She does not appear to have a compassionate countenance but she did charity work. Some people are good to the public but not in private. This is going to be very expensive for Paul. I really hope she can build a life for herself after this. With the settlement and that bust I think she will do okay. Go girl go, nice to see an older man cleaned out again ! |

Subject: RE: BS: Heather Mills. A gold digger or wife ? From: John O'L Date: 17 Jun 06 - 08:04 PM Well I had never heard of Heather Mills until that other thread came along. I didn't even know Linda was dead. (She is dead, isn't she? It was Linda wasn't it?) Nevertheless, I have very strong opinions about gold-diggers and pirates with wooden legs and I don't mind shooting my mouth off about it either. Does she have a parrot on her shoulder? |

Subject: RE: BS: Heather Mills. A gold digger or wife ? From: Mooh Date: 18 Jun 06 - 08:56 AM Having met someone who has met someone who knows Sir Paul, and maybe even met someone who knows Sir Paul, I am practically an authority on this subject... My best guess is that Sir Paul considered the risks, accepted them, and at 64 can say he's had something most younger men can only dream of. He can live more cheaply, and still has earning potential, she joins the army of folks who have done the Beatles, and the sun will rise in the east. Move along people, there's nothing to see here. I know a band looking for a bass player, wonder if he's interested... Peace, Mooh. |

Subject: RE: BS: Heather Mills. A gold digger or wife ? From: JohnInKansas Date: 18 Jun 06 - 03:37 PM Having frankly not heard of "Heather Mills" before (I have to stop and think to remember who "Sir Paul" is) I was mostly curious as to why this "story" should be so obviously interesting to 'catters. The evidence here is that everyone has an opinion, but few offer anything to support one. After a bit of browsing, I conclude that having an opinion in this matter is perhaps more demeaning to the opinion holders than to the objects of judgement; but then that's show-biz, I guess. Observations: Sir Paul and Heather have been married for quite some time, and seem to have been mostly happy. They appear to have, and have had, mutual interests and mutual respect for each other. They have been "living apart" for at least a couple of months, and have only within the last day or two announced publicly that a divorce is planned. Both have been subjected to apparently continual attacks by the sleaze news media, although probably Heather has been more subject to this than Sir Paul. (A recent commentary is at The Independent. As I'm not familiar with the various UK news media, I can only assume that this is a legitimate one, but my observations support the premise stated.) All of the so-called "porn" that I found appears to come from the same source, and IMO has been "shopped" to create a "lurid" appearance of the photos. (If this is the best print quality the "Sun" can do they should stick to comic books.) A few samples are "restorable" to near "porn movie quality" although most of the highlights are completely blown out, and colors have been changed, apparently to deliberately make them ugly. (Is this evidence for the credibility of the link above?) While what I get from Google may be affected by the Google server I use, and those in the UK may get different results, the examples shown are really pretty "soft" stuff, even for the time when these were reportedly made. There is no readily accessible web info on what the real nature of the publications were, so that probably appears only in the Sun. So far as I can tell, this is the kind of stuff that is likely to be found in the portfolio of many young models; and it's unlikely, though not impossible, that it would be a surprise to Sir Paul. He seems able to live with it, so I guess I can let him. It is of some interest that the only sites Google returned the "porn" from were Dutch, Spanish, and one other language I couldn't identify accurately. It's possible that this is due only to different libel and "content" standards in those countries, but UK public relations might wonder why a "select few" countries are so negatively obsessed with UK "royalty." I found no pictures of Heather in recent UK "news" in which she was smiling. The result is that from those sources alone one might get the impression of a rather "plain old crone." Elsewhere, recent photos show a very attractive young woman. There are few comprehensive biographies for Heather (that I found) although there are numerous ones giving emphasis to particular of her accomplishments. The most complete(?) that I found was at AskMen. This isn't a site I'm familiar with, but the information does agree with what's given in bits and snatches elsewhere. (There are two additional linked pages.) On the surface, the charge that she's a "gold-digger" seem contradicted by her offer to sign a pre-nup. While Sir Paul quite obviously has contributed to her charitable activities, that's called spousal involvement, and for the most part the interest appears to have been shared and mutual. (Sort of like the coincidental appearance almost immediately after Bill married Melissa of the 42G$ endowment?) As "prominent public persons" Sir Paul and Heather are "interesting," but I'm afraid that to me it's only a casual interest. I see two attractive, capable, and accomplished persons facing a personal decision about what they want to do next. I'm sure they'll reach a decision without my help, and I trust they'll live happily ever after - together or apart - as they both seem capable of handling their own lives. John |
Subject: RE: BS: Heather Mills. A gold digger or wife ? From: The PA Date: 19 Jun 06 - 03:48 AM Gold digger or wife? Well I suppose time will tell. If she accepts a reasonable financial settlement which reflects the time they were actually married and that she is the mother of his child, and assuming she is young enough and fit enough to go and earn her own living, then I suppose wife, or ex-wife. However, should she choose to sit on her backside doing nothing for the rest of her days and damand the x-number of millions per year she may think she's entitled to for simply being the ex-wife of a very wealthy man, albeit for a rather short time, then I have to say gold digger - simple. Hey Heather, join the real world, get a childminder - get a job. |
