The Fringe at Beverley Folk Festival gets better and better and I understand that, although the program didn't say so, a lot of its organisation is down to you John. Thank you. If there were other unsung heroes of this labour of love then thanks to them too.

I second all that's been said above.

I've just arrived home tired, but very happy, having had a superb weekend "fringing it" at Beverley.

I'll third that. (Eh?)

We had a great time, I drank too much, sang too much, and generally made a bloody nuisance of myself at singarounds...but no-one complained!

We'd love to come back next year.

Thanks to all who worked so hard to make the fringe events run so well, Les, Maggie....etc, etc, etc

Cheers,

John & Wendy

Difficult to add anything to what's already been posted.

Just want to add my name to the list on thankers.

It was really good to put faces to so many of the Mudcat names that crop up in these threads.

Had a fantastic time, heard some great performers, just a little sad that one or two of the regulars couldn't make it ths year.

Never mind here's to 2007.

Best wishes to OBJO and everyone else who did such a fantastic job of running the sessions.

Kampervan

I could with reply with a cutting remark but I'll assume that the comment was made with a genuine interest (O.K. how dumb is that?).

Yes thank you D/M, it started first time. ( We did start it up on Saturday just to make sure).

But thank you for your kind assistance all those many years ago, we'll never forget it, and I'm sure that you won't let us.

Every time we pull off the campsite on a Monday morning we think of the year that Supermeister helped us out.

Good weekend eh? cheers

Kampervan

I'll add my thanks to Oombanjo and also to Mississippi John who put himself about a lot, spelled me in the Sun on Saturday (with Del) and Sunday and also kept it going in Hodgson's on Saturday night.

I didn't get about as much as I would have liked due to duties in the Sun but everything that I did see was great. (It was great in the Sun too!)

Yes it was brilliant.

The sessions started with a fantastic Friday night at Hodgsons, then we were spoilt for choice between The Sun, Monks Walk, and Hodgsons.
And that's how it went on right through the weekend, ending with a fabulous finishing night at Hodgsons on Sunday.

Unbelievably good and to those who had to leave on Sunday afternoon, commiserations, cos you missed a great night.

Well done everyone who organised or performed.

Here's to next year

Kampervan

Thanks John, all the fringe sessions were great, and Sunday night was the perfect session to finish the festival, even if I did over-indulge in the 'Ale Sale'. Andrew and Lynne from Cornwall had a great time too.

I have to say that the level of performance at the sessions over the weekend was terrific! Hodgsons was good and the Sunday session at The Foresters was the best I've been to since The Sun used to be packed out a couple of years ago. There were a lot of singer-songwriters and plenty of guitars! It was great to hear some really good original material. Maybe a Foresters Sunday session would be worth a shot!
Well done everyone.
