Subject: RE: Tune Req: Sing Irishmen Sing From: GUEST Date: 13 Oct 08 - 11:28 AM http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=k053GsOopwk They've put it up!! I was writing the lyric from the top of my head got one word wrong "no more leave the little one's suffer" should be "no more need the little one's suffer" otherwise its ok... Found it on an old reel to reel tape my father had from the seventies never thought i'd hear the full version cos it's not on any CD's or anything... I know it sounds a bit corny and cheesey today but I suppose in the seventies when it was released times were so awful and so many tragedies happening that it would have more appreciated... |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: Sing Irishmen Sing From: GUEST,Tommy O'Brien, Mitchelstown Date: 14 Jul 08 - 08:17 PM you forgot these 2 verses: There's laughter in Belfast and Derry, you'll hear it ring out on the air, through Cavan Kilkenny and Kerry, through Leitrim Mayo and Kildare, no more leave the little one's suffer, there's sunshine where once there was rain, they're singin' and dancin' in Ireland, and the people are happy again The streets are all crowded with dancers, and music rings over the land, ive never seen people so happy, oh boys i can tell you its grand, i know that its only a dream now, but my hopes will always remain, to see the sun shine over ireland, when the people are happy again. |

Subject: Lyr Add: SING, IRISHMEN, SING From: Bobby O'Brien Date: 21 Mar 97 - 07:38 AM An Irish group called "The Barleycorn" had a hit with this song, and it was also recorded in America by Richie O'Shea on a Rego album called "We'll Take You Back to Ireland" (Rego's # 516 328 7800). Here's the lyrics: SING, IRISHMEN, SING Sing Irishmen sing so the sounds of your voices will ring and let the world know that it really is so sing irishmen sing. I dream of a beautiful picture, no more need we think of the past, there's singing and dancing in Ireland, and the people are happy at last. The sound of the gunfire has ended the rifles will bring no more pain theres singing and dancing in Ireland and the people are happy again. (chorus) I know that it's only a dream now, but my hopes will always remain, to see the sunshine over Ireland, when the people are happy again. (repeat chorus) |
Subject: Sing Irishmen Sing From: Alison Date: 03 Mar 97 - 05:35 PM Does anyone know the tune for this song. I already have the lyrics. The chorus goes, "Sing Irishmen sing, so the sound of your voices will ring, And let the world know it really is so, Sing Irishmen, sing." It's a nice song about peace, but I have no idea about the tune. Hope someone can help. Thanks, Alison. |
