ER... asking for photos the day after you wanted them is a bit pointless.. not everyone habitually carries a camera around.

As it turns out, I was at home, did take my camera out and took a picture of a monkey flower in my pond, and my kitty playing in the salad bowl. Could have been taken any day.

Hello Liz

I was not asking for photos the day after I wanted them as it would be difficult to take pictures on the 21st the day before:-o
infact the point seems to be being missed altogether. Don't know where you live but here the 21st of June being the longest day of the year is a party day, or Fête. Infact it's the Fête of Musique.
This being a musique discussion forum, I thought that maybe some of you may have been playing or watching music and would like to share your photos with the world, or other musicians.

Kara, thanks for the links and photos. I didn't get to do much except stay in, last night, though my brother and I had a three-way telephone call with a dear friend with whom we always celebrated Solstice when we all lived in the same area. So, it was like a mini-celebration and remembrance of times past. Quite wonderful anyway.

Belated solstice here Kara.

We celebrate tomorrow Friday, and the next day. Goverment gives the Swedes the Friday off so's to stop them celebrating on the correct day in the middle of the week and then not coming to work for the rest of it. (Clever goverment) I'm out with this lot

Have five places that we are visiting. The last one we stay the night. They have a saying here, "That you shouldn't sleep away the summer night" And we won't.

Apart from noting that from now on the nights are drawing in I never have celebrated the longest day. Don't know of any celebrations other than the ones at Stonehenge.

Went to work yesterday. Had to work today, so went to bed at 9. I think the sun finally went down about 9:15. I didn't take pictures. I have a couple gigs this weekend that I'll photograph if you'd like.

Sadly I too was at work, I did manage a walk round the garden in the evening.

Normally we'd be up in the Lake District at the stone circle, but the Oysterband have put their festival right when we used to go, and there's no contest!

Nice to see all the photos, and find out how other countries celebrate the Solstice.
