Lyr/Chords Add: Bring 'em Home (Pete Seeger)

DigiTrad:
BIG MUDDY
DON'T ASK WHAT A RIVER IS FOR
FLOWERS OF PEACE
I MIND MY OWN BUSINESS
MY GET UP AND GO HAS GOT UP AND WENT
MY OLD BROWN EARTH
OH, HAD I A GOLDEN THREAD
OLD DEVIL TIME
ONE GRAIN OF SAND
PRECIOUS FRIEND
QUITE EARLY MORNING
SAILING DOWN MY DIRTY STREAM
SAILING DOWN MY GOLDEN RIVER
SOUR CREAM
TURN, TURN, TURN or TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON
WALKING DOWN DEATH ROW
WELL MAY THE WORLD GO

"If You Love Your Uncle Sam, Bring Them Home"

Do you mean the song entitled as above?

I found the lyrics at http://blog.myspace.com/mrsharkattack, chords in Pete's Where Have all the Flowers Gone Songbook. The lyrics in the songbook are slightly different, as are the lyrics on the Seeds album. Many of Pete's songs have various versions.

              C
So if you love your Uncle Sam
Am
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
F C
Support our boys in Vietnam,
F C G7 C
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

Bring 'em Home
(Pete Seeger, 1966)

If you love this land of the free,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
Bring all troops back from over seas,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

It'll make our generals sad, I know,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
They want to tangle with the foe,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

They want to test their weaponry,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
But here is their big fallacy,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

I may be right, I may be wrong,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
But I got a right to sing this song,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

There's one thing I must confess,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
I'm not really a pacifist,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

If an army invaded this land of mine,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
You'd find me out on the firing line,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

Even if they brought their planes to bomb,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
Even if they brought helicopters and napalm,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

Show those generals their fallacy:
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
They don't have the right weaponry,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

For defense you need common sense,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
They don't have the right armaments,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

The world needs teachers, books and schools,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
And learning a few universal rules,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

So now don't want to fight for oil,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
Underneath some foreign soil,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

Here's the version from Pete's Where Have All the Flowers Gone songbook.

Bring 'em Home
(Pete Seeger, 1966)

So if you love your Uncle Sam
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
Support our boys in Vietnam,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

It'll make our generals sad, I know,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
They want to tangle with the foe,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

They want to test their weaponry,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
But here is their big fallacy,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

Our foe is hunger and ignorance,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
You can't beat that with bombs and guns,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

Though they brought helicopters and napalm,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

Show those generals their fallacy:
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
They don't have the right weaponry,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

For defense you need common sense,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
They don't have the right armaments,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

The world needs teachers, books and schools,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
And learning a few universal rules,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

So if you love your Uncle Sam
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.
Support our boys in Vietnam,
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home.

The title is given as BRING THEM HOME (IF YOU LOVE YOUR UNCLE SAM) on the album "Seeds: The Songs of Pete Seeger, Vol. 3," Appleseed CD #1072, 2003, where it is sung by Pete Seeger, Billy Bragg, and Ani DiFranco.

Allmusic.com has a sound sample, and I would also expect to find sound samples at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Yahoo! Shopping > Music, to name a few. (Their samples might or might not be the same.)

Maybe somebody who is good at that kind of thing can listen to the samples and work out the chords.
