Subject: RE: Morris Musician in Rochester, NY From: JohnB Date: 28 Jun 06 - 10:36 PM Good Luck Guys, we were at a stage a few years ago when we had to rewrite dances for 3, cos we could not field 4 and a muso. We now have an enviable band that numbers in the mid to high teens on a GOOD day, with only 5 or so on a bad day. We started a joint team with another ailing bunch who could only field 4 and no muso, both original teams have now expanded, at the Brampton Folk Festival two weeks ago, there were 30 of us out. It can be done but it does take pure blind luck. JohnB |

Subject: Morris Musician in Rochester, NY From: RB3 Date: 28 Jun 06 - 04:22 PM There's this lovely little (and I mean little) morris and rapper team in Rochester NY who are in desperate need of a musician. We have barely enough people to dance, never mind dance while one of us doubles as a musician. We have sheet music available, and we're totally open to weird, non-morrisy instruments, as long as they're portable, and preferably non-electric. Might anyone be interested, or know someone who is? Please pass the word to anyone you think might be up for either playing, dancing, or both, who's relatively close to the rochester area. our website is www.snowbeltmorris.org, and if you email me, I'll give you the information for where we practice and when (it's not entirely correct on the site at the moment). Thanks! -RB3 |
