Translation from French to English

I just learned a French-Canadian tune called Reel de Goelette. I used the Google trnaslator to translate "Goelette" and it translates as "Goelette" which is no help. Does the word mean anything or is it a place name in Quebec? Thanks in advance for your help.

PS - if you want to be funny and tell me that it's a female Goel, I already thought of that one.

Basically, a Goelette is a schooner.

A schooner indeed, and the etymologically it comes from the French for a seagull(goeland)
