At the end of the day John Prescott is in the position he is becuase he is the deputy leader of the labour party and elected to that post by the labour members so realistically he holds quite a significant amount of control over TB where his position is concerned this is why he wasn't totally sacked after a)punching a member of the public b) sleaze allegations regarding his personal finances & housing arrangements c)sleeping with his secretary and embarrasing the government generally by being an incomprehensible, overblown buffoon who uses his position to further his greed for luxery cars, luxury flats and women. Realistically he is a working class boy who made good and then went a bit too far - but no leader will sack him while he is held by the labour party as their last survivor of the old guard - even though he appears to stand for nothing but his own advancement - there thats my opinion!

John Prescott is not from Hull. He's the MP for one of Hull's constituencies. He was born in Prestatyn, Wales and went to school in Ellesmere Port. So, unlike me, he is not 'from Hull'.

It's just that being 'from Hull' is a special trick. It's, like, a birthright.

The only people who can really disown him are the Labour Party who elected him their deputy leader. John is not going to disown himself. And the people of East Hull keep re-electing him. But in East Hull they don't count Labour votes. They just put them in sacks and weigh them!

If John Prescott, Deputy PM and representative of the government, has the nerve to turn up at such events as the Brit Awards in a vain attempt to make Labour seem cool and trendy, then he deserves all we can throw at him.

Sacked dockworkers, people being forced into 'workfare', people who will be denied legal aid, students who will be denied the free education that the whole Labour front bench benefited from, the homeless, and all of the underclass who are now suffering at the hands of the Labour government.

Did anyone hear on the radio this evening about some guy who is running for vice-president of America and he is a great admirer of John Prescott, seemingly he quotes him a lot. Said he met him in Colorado and found him to be an inspiration.
