Subject: RE: BS: John Prescott. A man's man From: Charmain Date: 05 Jul 06 - 12:04 PM At the end of the day John Prescott is in the position he is becuase he is the deputy leader of the labour party and elected to that post by the labour members so realistically he holds quite a significant amount of control over TB where his position is concerned this is why he wasn't totally sacked after a)punching a member of the public b) sleaze allegations regarding his personal finances & housing arrangements c)sleeping with his secretary and embarrasing the government generally by being an incomprehensible, overblown buffoon who uses his position to further his greed for luxery cars, luxury flats and women. Realistically he is a working class boy who made good and then went a bit too far - but no leader will sack him while he is held by the labour party as their last survivor of the old guard - even though he appears to stand for nothing but his own advancement - there thats my opinion! |

Subject: RE: BS: John Prescott. A man's man From: GUEST Date: 07 Jul 06 - 08:12 AM Ev'ry mornin' at the docks you could see him arrive He stood six foot tall and weighed five forty five Kinda broad at the shoulder and wide at the gut And everybody knew ya didn't give no lip to Big John. Nobody seemed to know where John called home He just drifted into London and stayed all alone He didn't say much, kinda quiet and shy And if you spoke at all, you just said "Hi" to Big John. Somebody said he came from up near Hull Where he got in a fight over a group called Chumbawamba And a crashin' blow from a huge right hand Sent a Bristol born fellow to the Promised Land-Big John Then came the day at the bottom of the docks When a timber cracked and men started cryin' dockers were prayin' and hearts beat fast And everybody thought that they'd breathed their last-'cept John Through the dust and the smoke of this man-made hell Walked a giant of a man that the dockers knew well Grabbed a saggin' timber, gave out with a groan And like a giant oak tree he just stood there alone-Big John And with all of his strength he gave a mighty shove Then a docker yelled out "There's a light up above!" And twenty men scrambled from a would-be grave Now there's only one left down there to save-Big John With jacks and timbers they started back down Then came that rumble way down in the ground And then smoke and gas belched out of the dock Everybody thought it was the end of the line for Big John But he came back fighting and was stopped by Blair who said hey John there's a job over there. On his way over he beat up two monks and did this interview for Hull in which he said he'd no trucks. Big John, thick as a brick, yes that's John. |
Subject: RE: BS: John Prescott. A man's man From: Les from Hull Date: 07 Jul 06 - 09:51 AM John Prescott is not from Hull. He's the MP for one of Hull's constituencies. He was born in Prestatyn, Wales and went to school in Ellesmere Port. So, unlike me, he is not 'from Hull'. |

Subject: RE: BS: John Prescott. A man's man From: Les from Hull Date: 07 Jul 06 - 10:20 AM It's just that being 'from Hull' is a special trick. It's, like, a birthright. The only people who can really disown him are the Labour Party who elected him their deputy leader. John is not going to disown himself. And the people of East Hull keep re-electing him. But in East Hull they don't count Labour votes. They just put them in sacks and weigh them! |

(Never rely on poets for scansion!) PREZZA'S SONG Words originally by Pam Ayres, Re-written to scan to Calon Lân (Nigel Parsons) I am ready Mr Prescott You can take me in your arms All these years I have been waiting To experience your charms So-o fling aside those trousers I-I hope they're quick release I see that all your high living's Made you clinically obese I do like a man of substance I do like a man of size Most especially when I'm measuring The bags beneath their eyes And if anyone insults me Then I have no doubt at all You'd leap quickly to defend me (And) punch the blighter through the wall I adore you Mr Prescott And a constant watch I keep To see you on television Next to Tony, fast asleep So I'm waiting Mr Prescott With my toothbrush in my bag To see your finely chiselled jawline At the wheel of either Jag They say that you can be dangerous And they say you can be trouble And just like a row of houses You demolished me to rubble With one hand on England's tiller Quite as steady as a rock And the other disappearing Up your secretary's frock! CHEERS Nigel |

Subject: RE: BS: John Prescott. A man's man From: GUEST,Martin Date: 13 Aug 06 - 07:54 AM In the hot seat while the boss is away This week Tony Blair jetted off on holiday, leaving his deputy John Prescott in charge of the nation. It is a scenario being repeated across the UK, as those in the number two spot take charge while the boss is on holiday. Summertime. And the living - for bosses - is easy. But it's not the same for the deputy who has to take the helm. Some may regard this as a time to shine, a time to prove that they too can stamp their authority on the post. Others may simply regard it as a quiet time of year, a time to keep things ticking over but also to take it easy, not so with John. The Deputy PM, John Prescott, who is in charge now Tony Blair is on holiday. He arrived at 10 Downing St at 9am sharp to oversee a raft of security briefings and announcements designed to keep the media pack busy. This year he has taken a very direct approach to the job. This August Mr Prescott wants to keep his finger on the pulse with actions in Iraq and Iran and increasing clamour to recall Parliament to debate UN proposals. Mr. Prescott in considered by many to be an authority on middle eastern affairs. |

Subject: RE: BS: John Prescott. A man's man From: GUEST Date: 04 Apr 07 - 07:00 PM John and his wife were seen at a Chumbawamba concert in Hull recently. If John Prescott, Deputy PM and representative of the government, has the nerve to turn up at such events as the Brit Awards in a vain attempt to make Labour seem cool and trendy, then he deserves all we can throw at him. Sacked dockworkers, people being forced into 'workfare', people who will be denied legal aid, students who will be denied the free education that the whole Labour front bench benefited from, the homeless, and all of the underclass who are now suffering at the hands of the Labour government. |
