Hi..time to put Sunnycamp on your calendars...it will be September 29 and 30 and October 1. It is a bit earlier than previous years, but we will avoid a rapidly deteriorating weather situation..late September and early October are the best times of the year...Sorry it again coincides with Jewish High Holy Days butit does.

Anyway, it will be at the same place..an old church camp in Nahcotta, Washington. (On Long Beach Peninsula in Southwest corner of Washington State USA). Price will be around $55 or so for the weekend..you can come for part of the weekend, no problem..there will be a day fee we pay the camp if you come just for the day so you will be charged around $10 plus meals if you eat with us.

We have had a great time at this camp..at least I have...it is in a beautiful location..camp is rustic..bunks are as simple as can be..unheated and can't be heated...main lodge/kitchen...they are in the midst of remodeling kitchen but it is useable..we have put out some very nice collective meals. Unless way more people come than usual we will mkae our own meals..will consider hiring a cook if numbers rise too much..

But it is usually a small camp..around 40. There is the lodge for music and a boat house that we reserve for instrumentals..and then cabins can be used for extra workshops..but it really tends to throw us more together than more spreadout camps...

There are motels, restaurants close by for those who prefer not roughing it. There is room for motor homes if you can make a tight turn..don't think they are set up with connections etc. so must be self-contained.

Food has been good, camp-style and some downright gourmet. We will have vegetarian and omnivore food..if you have special food requirements bring your own and cook it yourself when major meals are not being prepared. We'll deduct food from your expense. We try to have a nice salmon dinner. Lots of local berries and produce and you are urged to bring the fruits of your home harvest for salads etc.

I really need the most help in publicity, especially from Seattle, Portland, Victoria, Port Townsend, Corvallis, Olympia etc. We do draw a few people from all over..so if you can write something up for your local newsletter and start telling people, please do.

I can offer a couple of toilet-cleaning scholarships so let me know if money is a huge problem. Cleanup and housekeeping in general is not too burdensome.

Don't look at the map and think..great I will bring my kayak and go kayaking...no can do from the camp. It is treacherous depending on tides. There are lovely lakes around to kayak, or else you should be experienced and still hire a local guide and embark from far away from camp if you choose to kayak. There is a river within the bay that can and does sweep people out to sea.

There is lots to do for partners not interested in music...great museums, tourist things etc. mg
