Subject: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Joe Offer Date: 23 Feb 99 - 03:58 AM Well, it isn't colons that cause the problem with thread titles - could it be semicolons that are causing titles to truncat.... -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Will Bakker Date: 23 Feb 99 - 04:10 AM Is semicolonoscopy real pure genuine folk, or should we ban it? |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Mo Date: 23 Feb 99 - 07:28 AM Will, you know we ban nothing but spamming here! If it's of the people, for the people, it's got a home at the 'Cat. Joe - hope your colonic irrigation flushes out the problem!! Ah go on, I couldn't resist such a bad pun! Mo |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Art Thieme Date: 23 Feb 99 - 10:34 AM In our family the problems have always been with punctuation! My colon & her period. |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Big Mick Date: 24 Feb 99 - 01:12 PM Ahhhh, it is great to pop in to my beloved 'Cat and see that my dear friends, Mr. Thieme and Mr. Offer are still at it. It is wonderful to see Art offering his expert ANALysis before others jumped in and wrecked 'em. But I must ask Bro' Joe if a semicolonoscopy is what one gets when he is half-arsed? Mick |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Joe Offer Date: 24 Feb 99 - 01:35 PM You trying to keep up with Art, Mick? That "half-arsed" quip was pretty good, but it just doesn't measure up to Art's masterpieces. Ain't nobody who's a match for Art. He's a true hero to us all. Would that our politicians could accomplish so much. Say, do you think Art could give Al Gore joke lessons? No, on second thought, maybe that's not a good idea... -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Bill D Date: 24 Feb 99 - 04:12 PM I remember hearing Art at the Red Fox Inn, near Wash DC., about 20 years ago... singing, to the tune of "Turkey in the Straw"
"A man fell into a septic tank I see little has changed...*grin* |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Big Mick Date: 24 Feb 99 - 10:05 PM Joe, Not a chance in this lifetime that I could keep up with our dear friend, and living legend, the gifted Mr. Thieme. And being Irish to the core, I am especially in awe of his talents. I am just trying to get back into the swing in my favorite community, and am out of shape. It was merely an attempt to start training so when I can get back to a normal schedule I won't be completely out of practice. BTW my friend, would you mind sharing with me just where you went on vacation last week? You didn't find your way to Michigan, did you? We did a pub gig, and at the break we were lamenting that the 3 of the 5 of us had the flu, and were suffering our way through. I went up to the bar to get some water, and a fellow sitting there was a deadringer for the photos I have seen of you, minus the green moustache. I thought to myself later, it would be just my luck for you to turn up on this night of all nights. Mick |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Joe Offer Date: 25 Feb 99 - 02:39 AM Hmmm. People have been wondering about my travels, Mick. I guess I do travel a lot. It was New England, New Mexico, and the Great Lakes this year. Last week, it was Big Sur in California. I saw lots of elephant seals and jillions of Monarch butterflies and a California condor and some whales, but not a single Mudcatteer. "I do expect to see Mudcatteers on my next journey," he said, somewhat ominously. Not in Michigan, though. -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Art Thieme Date: 25 Feb 99 - 07:55 PM I do hope that Gore, bein' one o' dem politico a-holes, doesn't decide to live in an ARSEnal. |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: Big Mick Date: 25 Feb 99 - 09:57 PM If you get anywhere within 2 or 3 hours of me and don't let me know you are coming, it will confirm that you really are just a bit of programming. And I will never forgive you. And dinner will be on me. Art, my dear cyber friend, I bow to your brilliance. I shall devote what remains of this humble life to feeble attempts to emulate you. Mick |
Subject: RE: Semicolonoscopy; - the test From: RS Date: 25 Feb 99 - 10:17 PM Well to return to the original topic, I just tried to post a thread with quotation marks in the title, and nothing appeared until I finally removed the quotation marks and reposted. Why????? |
