Subject: fiddler needs a lift: Boston to Ashokan From: GUEST,John Dipper Date: 16 Jul 06 - 04:59 AM Hello, I am hoping to get from Boston Airport to the Ashokan fiddle camp. I'm flying from England and will be arriving at Boston Airport on Sunday the 23rd of July, in the afternoon. I wonder if anyone is passing and might be able to give me a lift up to the camp? Many thanks, John |

Subject: RE: fiddler needs a lift: Boston to Ashoken From: Barry Finn Date: 16 Jul 06 - 10:46 AM Would you be better off taking another flight or train to New York & trying to hitch a ride from there? The camp probably attracks more New York City dwellers than it would Bostonians. Just a thought. Barry |
Subject: RE: fiddler needs a lift: Boston to Ashoken From: NH Dave Date: 16 Jul 06 - 02:53 PM This from the web site for the camp. EASY TO GET TO! Ashokan is located in the Catskill Mountains west of Kingston, New York. We're two and one half hours north of New York City and about four hours from Philadelphia or Boston. We can help you connect with a ride or arrange a pick-up at the Trailways bus depot in Kingston, NY. Dave |

Subject: RE: fiddler needs a lift: Boston to Ashoken From: GUEST,Pamela from Ithaca Date: 19 Jul 06 - 10:24 AM John, You are aware that camp *begins* Sunday afternoon? (I've gone for several years). Most, if not all of the people who will be attending from Boston will be long gone by Sunday afternoon. Your best bet might be to get a connecting flight to either the Albany airport or Stewart Field (in the Newburg area) and someone from camp could help fetch you. You've cut it kinda close. Good luck, and I look forward to meeting you. I'll be singing and dancing more than playing an instrument. Cheers, Pamela |
Subject: RE: fiddler needs a lift: Boston to Ashoken From: GUEST Date: 11 Jun 11 - 09:08 PM Pamela, John and Dave... I'm in a similar situation. I'm arriving from Los Angeles at Albany (one transfer from Boston) on Saturday, Jul 22, at 10:00 am. I've got to figure out how to get directly from Albany to the Ashokan F&D Camp or via Kingston. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Tom Harmon (tharmon@relaypoint.net) |
