Good morrow darlings,
T'festival committee popped around last night to inform us that we raised £854 during sundays spectacular. This money has been passed on to the vicar who will arrange to hand it over to Castle Hill.
T'committee would also like to give you all a big wet kiss and hope you can all come back and do it again next year, but on a bloody SATURDAY in 2007

       T'committee,the true battle axes

Yo Muppet,
Since you went on after sunset, you were subject to some ferocious stage lighting which unfortunately outlined your miniscule genetalia to one and all!

          Free fleeces, the true path!
ps: I will let you know how much the event raised once all groats have been converted to sterling.

Thanks a million to all who came to Humbleton and kicked ass on stage. The locals were well impressed. I feel a knighthood coming on, never just the Parish Council.
Font color=green> Sorry to miss you Les, but I couldn't get back to Hull after coming for muppet
And now for the Parish notices: someone has left a medium sized blue fleece at our house. It is a rather effeminate design, so I suspect it blongs to Caveman Short.

Very sorry to have missed this. We imbibed rather heavily at the Sea Shanty Festival on Saturday, so instead of taxiing into the wilds of Holderness at Sunday tea-time we kind of went back to bed. Perhaps next year we might avoid this clash of the East Riding's two major cultural events.

Glad to know that it went well, and I will be happy to buy young Ted a small sherry at tonight's Black Boy session (it's all go isn't it?) in partial compensation of our non-appearance.

Ted, Humbledum is a village without a pub (weird or what?), so the question is 'Is there a refreshment stall selling drink and Nobby's nuts or do we have to turn up pissed?'. 'Tis a fundamental request I might add.

Looks a good do at 'umbleton but in case no one turns up at Monks cos of Hull Shanty, the landlady of the Sun leaves this week and fears pub may close again. Thought of the majority of the vast numbers at the Sun this weekend (3) was that a permenent move back to Hodgsons on Sundays would be wise - 1st Sunday at Monks and rest at Hodgsons?

If I remember rightly from last year the Shanty fest finished round about 4.39ish so that is a possibillity.

Getting there could be the problem.

Maggie says we could do the Humbleton thing after the shanty fest finishes. I got it wrong about her being in Bradford, that's the next weekend. I really must get an up-to-date calandar, this 1947 one's rubbish.

Speed limit signs are 'advisory' to me Les. You can easily reach 110mph on Hedon Road.
I changed my name after my sex change Mick. The name 'Ted' didn't seem right anymore somehow. I have been thinking of changing my name to 'Flamenco Edwina'

It's 10.3 miles and it will take you 26 minutes, so says my little thingy! Any quicker than that and I'll be contacting the local Constabulary.

There's no buses, no buses on a Sunday...

I'm dreadfully sorry, Ted old chap, but I'm afraid that we'll have to scratch from Humbleton's celebrations, as I've realised it's the Sunday of the Hull Shanty Festival. Apart from that Maggie is away most of the the day in Bradford learning to be an even better therapist. Hope the day goes well for you.

Les

Yo Dave,
I hope you have plenty of factor 50 on your head at the moment. For any students of the history of East Yorkshire, try this- google the OLD name for Humbleton, which was 'HUMELTONE' and you can read all about our splendid village.

Many unknown facts have gone unmentioned about Humbleton for years. In 1066 Humbleton had nothing what so ever to do with The Great Fire of London. The inventor of Blackpool rock once went to the toilet of the same person who once drove through Humbleton. Elvis has been reincarnated and lives in Humbleton not Mars as previously believed, please keep this a secret and tell everyone else to keep it a secret. Seven mobile phones now operate from Humbleton.

Obviously I will sort the details out with you nearer the time. Penny will compose a luncheon of immense proportions, but I need to know if there are any vegetarians amongst you? I know muppet is, but I have already got marmite in for him.

Our village is having it's annual fund raiser/rave up on SUNDAY 3rd September, and we need kindly musicians to do a spot on the village green sometime between 5pm to 10pm, there is a small PA and a couple of SM58's supplied by The Vicar.

The very lovely MUPPET has agreed to do a spot, which is reason enough to come along in itself!

The Vicar is also a professional ELVIS impersonator(yes really) and he will do his act.

Make a day of it,pop along and dine with Penelope and myself at The Chapel and drink your way through my extensive wine collection.

Marmite is also available.
