Thanks for the info, Ralph. In that case I've already watched it two or three times (and at 2 a.m. watching something else on the telly isn't the only other possibility).

Definitely a repeat.

BBC4 is a bit strapped for cash, which is bad news in one way (ie, can't commission that many new programmes) but, good in another, allowing people who may have missed the prog the first time round, get another chance to catch it now. (Jolly good it is too)

Mind you, If you aren't tempted by RT, there's always Celebrity Big Brother on a Horse in an attic, or a Kitchen, or building a Blue Patio out of MDF with a Gazebo, whilst searching out Crap for a car boot sale, with a bit of ballroom dancing thrown in.....!

I know which one would be my choice, even though I've got the Thompson Doc already Videoed!!

Hasta La Vista Baby....Ralph

Is this a new programme or a rerun of the one that was on a while back?

Shame it's on so late - but there are a couple of other things of interest earlier in the evening, though both re-runs:

8.30pm The Highland Sessions - As the investigation into the links between Irish and Scottish music continues, Rona Lightfoot demonstrates how she has adapted a technique traditionally used to teach pipe tunes so successfully that critics have called her "the ceilidh personified"

9.00pm Folk Britannia - Documentary series celebrating the UK's traditional music, from the first wide-scale broadcasts of rural folk songs after World War Two to the genre's Sixties revival. With contributions by David Attenborough, Tony Benn, Martin Carthy, Pete Seeger and Anne Briggs

- - -

2.10am   Richard Thompson: Solitary Life A portrait of the British folk-rock singer, songwriter and founder member of Fairport Convention, visiting him at home in London and Los Angeles and featuring footage recorded by a fan at one of the last concerts in which he performed as a duo with his then-wife Linda. With contributions from Billy Connolly, Bonnie Raitt, Harry Shearer and the artist's second wife Nancy Covey.

There is a programme on the British TV station BBC4 about Richard Thompson, 'A Solitary Life', Fri 21 July, just after 2am (which is actually Saturday 22 July, of course).
