He probably wasn't known outside of New York City, but he was a great musician and a great guy. Along with his wife, Kate Lamb, he was part of the old-time music scene in NYC for years as a duo and in the band, The Wonderbeans. Whenever they performed, they always invited local musicians, who otherwise weren't getting paid jobs, to back them up. My experience as a back-up musician on their first album was one of the highlights of my occasional music career. I'll miss him.
