The Gilded Cage, in Philadelphia, where the Folk Revival of the 50's and 60's was centered, was the home for folkies, artists, poets and many other misfits. Every former Cagenick agrees that life hasn't been as much fun since it closed, thirty five years ago. Every ten years, or so, someone comes up with a reunion concert and we get to see one another again. The Fortissimo group put up a website gildedcagecoffeehouse.com/ which is kind of fun to visit but it is having trouble accepting new stories so, if there are any ex-Cagenicks wallowing in the Mudcat, perhaps we can reconnect by e-mail or on a mended site. I still keep in touch with some of you but, damn it, I miss you all.
