Thanks once again everyone, it's especially nice to get good wishes from people I've never met.

And even nicer to hear from you, Trevor - seems a long time since we did our BOST training (and a fair bit of beer drinking!) in Weymouth! Glad to hear you're still sailing, presumably with the STA (and Lester?). I've not sailed since I did a trip on the SWC in her last season, after our Weymouth week, but when I'm fit again I hope to get back afloat. Oh, by the way, I didn't know when I last saw you, but I DO know who your bro. is now! I even do one of his songs! (Yes, THAT one!). All the best mate, keep swinging the lamp!

Nevermind - only do what you can do comfortably, and you'll be all right in the end. Mine was 17 years ago, and I've been fine ever since.

Thanks for your good wishes guys, very much appreciated.
The staff of Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, took excellent care of me, and I can't thank them enough for allaying my fears before the op. and helping me through the difficult few of days straight after it.
I'm taking it very easy, and the twelve-inch zip they put in my abdomen keeps reminding me that's how it's got to be! :-)
Hope to be back out there in a few weeks, but I'll need to get some practice in first - haven't picked my guitar up for the best part of a month.
